Where is Putney?

Putney lies to the west of Wandsworth, the east of Richmond, and the south of the River Thames; just across the water from affluent Fulham. Its riverside setting and wraparound greenery have cemented its status as one of the capital’s most postcard-worthy suburbs. As such, the capital’s well-heeled flock here from far and wide.

Eating and drinking

Putney majors in sophisticated gastropubs as well as cafés – the best of which have a front-row seat on the riverbank. Away from the water, most of the action can be found on fashionable Putney High Street and Upper Richmond Road. While some chains are present and correct, this is largely independent territory; think delis offering Spanish meats, quality wine stores and upmarket clothes boutiques.

Putney nightlife

Come nightfall, the area comes into its own. Its proximity to Roehampton University means there’s a sizeable student population that frequents the watering holes after-dark, and the pubs cater to the crowds with regular live music and quiz nights.

Putney parkland

Green space is in good supply in these parts. Residents can take their pick from Putney Heath and Wandsworth Common. Serious hikers should lace up their walking boots and trek the nine-mile-long Beverley Brook trail, which weaves around Richmond Park and the River Thames.

Those seeking a new home with bucketloads of peace and quiet should look at Putney Rise. This Barratt Homes development is made up of 125 apartments and 30 townhouses, all smattered among tranquil courtyards, and accessed by a winding tree-shaded avenue.

Overall, I’m incredibly satisfied with my purchase. I always grew up in SW London, and it was such a great opportunity to buy a new build just down the road in Putney as a first time buyer. The transport links are fantastic – just a 10-15min walk to the mainline station and district line. With the new works scheduled on Putney High Street by the council it’ll make going into Putney that much more attractive. A great young professional / family destination. Living in Putney Rise does feel like you’re in somewhat of a bubble at times which is great – a nice contrast to working in Central London – so it’s always nice to get home in the evening and enjoy your own space without any traffic congestion or other noise pollution overheard from nearby.” – Peter K, verified renter at Putney Rise

Transport

The area is six miles from Central London, connected by Putney Bridge and East Putney stations via the District line. Also by the rail station which offers South Western Railway services to Waterloo in less than 20 minutes; stopping off at well-connected Clapham Junction en route. Alternatively, hop on the riverbus from Putney Pier for a scenic commute to Blackfriars.

Lovely interior & useful concierge

Review Date Sep 2019

Safe, concierge is good. Wifi use to be slow. Interior has not been painted, corridor is top condtion, look after the bins the buzzer dont work well.

Please review your development:

In the summer, it can get very hot and there’s no air conditioning, maybe because I’m renting out my flat, so they gave me one without air con. Concierge are very helpful as they respond to problems quick, for instance, the wifi was very slow and they sorted it out and you feel safe in the building. The corridors are kept in top condition, however, the interior needs to be painted.

If there’s one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be?

No air conditioning if you rent could be better too hot in summer.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew when you get a development you can’t get on street parking permits have to rent parking

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I like that the area is upmarket and the people are classy. Theres is all kinds of food right nparound the crner and the river makes it great.

Please review your development:

Clean and modern. There’s a concierge who is very helpful. There is parking which is very useful in such a busy area. Communal spaces are clean and maintained well. The director however is okay, not too quick. For example there has been scaffolding outside for a very long time and working doesn’t seem to go forward and the window cleaner leaves the windows dirty after coming to clean.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We were well informed so there were no suprises.

What is the best feature of your home:

There is a lovely balcony with a really nice view.

Great options in terms of transport, restaurants, bars, cafes + shops.
On High Street some shops aren’t great.

Please review your development:

Well managed, excellent concierge service who are attentive. Very good all round, good facilities and design. Can’t comment on community really. Little more to say about this accommodation, no hidden secrets.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing at all, building is all round great so no complaints.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yeah, great response always. No issues with them at all.

East putney has easy access into the city. Close to the river so nice outdoors and green spaces. Infrastrcture is quite good and good access to underground and overground

Please review your development:

Amazing views, some of the best in London as its on a hill. Great place to live as you’re surrounded by career driven people. Modern and clean. Well finished. There’s underground parking with a concierge, although guests can’t use it. Guests however can park outside on a weekend. Bike storage included and a very nice community.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I was very suprised by the views over london, which i didn’t expect

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The developer fixing snags within the first year instead of letting them drag out.
