Reviews

Caspian Wharf is a lovely place to live. The development is kept clean and safe by the staff, who are on the whole very professional and friendly. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and maintained. There is a gym, tesco express, play park and other facilities within the development. Being situated along the Limehouse Cut is nice, as there’s wildlife and easy access to the Lea River valley. Access to public transport is excellent.” – Ed D, verified at Caspian Wharf resident

Modern, tranquil perfect commuter development

A fairly recent development of some 500+ properties nestled a 10 minute walk away from Canada Water Station. The apartment types vary across the different buildings within the development, we have been tenants in two seperate buildings now, and both were very nice, modern and afforded us plenty of living space with wonderful views of Canary Wharf. The location is perfect for city commuters with a short walk to both Surrey Quays and Canada Water Stations. There is a small Tesco Express on site as well as numerous cafe’s, restaurants, a gym, spa and even a gentlemans barbers. There is also a 24 hour concierge, all of whom are wonderfully helpful. Marine Wharf is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main roads which you can walk to and hop on a bus into the likes of Greenwich. A little further a field, and on the way to the station is Surrey Quays shopping centre with many stores and a larger Tesco’s. Neither my partner or I, had lived in this area prior to moving here a almost two years ago. We moved for the close proximity to Central London and feel as though its presents the best value for location, anywhere that we viewed.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The amenities are freat, with a lovely couple of restaurants, a gym a small Tescos and the 24 hour concierge is also a great addition to the development.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Definitely try the restaurants, both the Pear Tree and Plough Way Cafe, are great. Greenland Pier is also a short walk away so for an alternative route into London or to the O2 arena, the Thames Clipper is a great option, Especially in Summer.

Good development to live in but probably too much money for the value you get

Building management has been an absolute fiasco as they outsource it to an external company. Design is very impressive and practical but it could have been slightly more considerate of the surroundings. Given it’s by natural Reservoirs, there’s a vital lack of insect nests or just the possibility of being able to integrate ones own to the balcony doors even! The option to choose the color scheme of the apartment from a sufficient list was great. I’ve looked around some other new developments that did not have Any choice for the color schemes so it definitely made a difference

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area has good transportation links both to the under and the over ground as well as bus services. There is a lack of shops in the area and the local amenities are minimal.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The community around the neighbourhood is not fast changing. It’s a regeneration area but the change is happening incredibly slowly.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Include more tenant feedback in the design of the apartments. Everyone complains about the insects in the summer in their house and all year round in their balconies. Also the all glass exterior is definitely not winter friendly.

Avoid if you can

Being in a new development, we have to unfortunately put up with construction of other houses around the area. There used to be an easy access getting in and out of the estate but due to the construction, you have to go through the long way. The construction traffic uses the road we live on to get in and out of sites. You can imagine the dust and dirt gathering on our cars and outside our houses. The construction workers also don’t have a designated place to park their cars when they come in for work. This is very annoying as they park on the pavements making the roads narrower and much more difficult for passerby to get through. I think the design of development was not thought out well. There are loads of houses on the estate however some houses only has one parking space and some non at all! As the development is a little bit on the outside of Bognor, people tend to use cars to get around and most of the people on this development are working class. Therefore, they should have at least allocated two parking spaces for each house. All the houses are so condensed and near to each other which makes you think there’s no privacy at all.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is close to the A27 therefore getting out of Bognor is straightforward. However, being the only road that goes in and out of Bognor apart from the back roads, it does get busy in the morning and in the afternoon. There’s a bus stop nearby and it takes about 10 minutes to get into Bognor town. Bognor itself is a bit dodgy but the development we live on is okay.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish that someone would have warned me about the constant construction traffic in and out of the road we live on.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature would be the two parking spaces I looked at before moving into the area because I am a considerate person and I do not park on the curbs therefore causing obstructions to neighbours.

Royal Arsenal Riverside – The Place To Be

The development is well thought out with lots of green space, perfect if you have a dog. There is a real community feeling here and one of the main reasons I’d stay put. There are water features which are lovely when lit up.
In addition to this there is the concierge which is absolutely fantastic, most of the staff are pleasant and always willing to help. This development and the buildings feels really safe, you need a fob to get into each building and can only get into your building and floor with the fob.
The only negative side to the design of the development is you can easily see into your neighbours flat so it can be hard in the roasting summer months as you want to keep windows / blinds open.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

RAR is a great development with everything you need nearby. With an M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury’s Local on the development you never need to venture out. In addition to the shops, there are a few pubs and restaurants as well as having the gym/pool/sauna facilities. This is a great development that will only excel with the Crossrail coming in. I’ve lived here for just over 2 years and I don’t see myself leaving soon! There’s also Woolwich High St which has Boots, Superdrug, Wilko etc so everything is really nearby. Beautiful parks and views of the river and Canary Wharf!
The only downside is there a not a lot of really really good places for food or takeout

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The only thing I wish I’d known is the delay of the Crossrail, I think that was a major factor in moving here but under the current climate I’m happy with the transport links and can’t wait to see what’s to come.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of the home… got to be the Waterside Club with the gym/sauna/pool and concierge.
