Nice and quiet

Nice and quiet in our little cup de sac however parking can be at a premium at times- this is mostly due to the families here having more than average amount of cars.

Please review your development:

The design of the houses are ok, nothing ground breaking but to be honest they won’t date too badly so I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. The builders were hood when we had a few snags and dealt with them well, and seem to have been built to a good quality.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish we had been able to see how many other properties would overlook us but these weren’t built!

What is the best feature of your home:

Best feature of our home is probably the space upstairs, it’s a fantastic layout that we will struggle to match without buying a much larger property.

We like our house but wouldn’t do this again

Everything to do with the local area that was already here is good, apart from the fact that there is lots of new housing going up but no dentists spots at all anywhere local, and doctors surgeries are already overrun. We were supposed to be getting a surgery on our estate and there is one earmarked but we have had no news or updates and we’ve been here 5.5 years now.

Living on our street is ok. We don’t have trouble with the neighbours and part of our street is housing association run. But they’re all well managed and have nice families in. Most households have at least 2 cars and some have 3. The entire street is terraced apart from ours and one other which are detached. All the terraced houses have 2 parking spaces out the front of their house, my house and the other detached house have a drive down the side. There are no spare visitors parking spaces and the only on road parking is directly in front of my house and the house opposite. So for our entire street there is only 2 on road parking spaces. So it’s usually the case that if just 2 of the houses on our street get a visitor then that’s it, anyone else has to park absolutely miles away. I get that you have to cram them all in to make as much money as possible but it’s still hard living with it.

Please review your development:

I like our development, but we are having major issues with crime, cars being broken into or stolen multiple times a week. There are parts of our estate that have streetlights but they’re not connected yet. A lot of residents have mentioned that they were meant to be switched on a while ago but still haven’t. Perhaps this would help discourage some of the unwanted crime.

My house personally, the brickwork is awful, it isn’t obvious immediately but when the light hits it there is shadows created by every single bring because they’re all so wonky! We did a walk round before we moved in and picked up lots of things for them to fix before we got the keys. Most of the things weren’t done, including no plug in our downstairs loo, when i told them about it they said they would fit it, instead they posted the plug through my door and ran off without knocking while I was in my house and I had to attach it myself.
There is uneven ground in my hallway where the concrete isn’t flat and we were told they couldn’t do anything about it.

After living here for just over 2 years we got birds living in our loft. After some investigation we realised that the builders had left bricks off under every corner of our roof and it had been open to the elements for over 2 years! To be fair to persimmon they fixed it within 2 weeks, I had to push a lot to get it done as they tried to say it was as a big job for them as they had to hire scaffolding but when I pushed they did sort it.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had felt like and known I could push for every little fault. I felt like I was causing a problem, now I wish I had made more of a fuss.

What is the best feature of your home:

That it’s new and we got quite a big garden in comparison to others.

Good property with decent future prospects

Roads have been designed too narrow with not always enough room to park and for other cars to pass.
The country park being designed will be a good asset as will the future shops and medical centre.
Nearby, you have pubs on the broads.
Shops are nearby also.
Lighting is good around the streets and there is little anti social behaviour.

Please review your development:

The houses are spaced close on the development but the designs of the properties are good. Personally had no issues with persimmons but no of others that have had a number of issues. When having an issues and contacting persimmon, the ladies were polite and helpful and always got back quickly with answers to our concerns

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Check boundary ownership, including out the front for parking spaces

What is the best feature of your home:

The kitchen/family area. Spacious and plenty of room to relax and entertain

Good schools.
Convenient one stop.

Please review your development:

Not enough storage in the house.
Extras are too expensive.
External designs are good.
Internal quality does not look the best.
The site is not kept clean by the builders
Litter left everywhere
Saleswoman is extremely rude and probably not even needed!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How small the garden would be and lack of storage in the house

What is the best feature of your home:

We have a 3 storey house and the 3 bedrooms are all a good size.
