Getting Around Newcastle

Newcastle is on the northern bank of the River Tyne and seven bridges connects it with Gateshead, a town on the south bank of the river. On the north side you can discover a number of new developments including The Forge, Quayside Lofts and Hanover Mills. All of which are rated as great places to rent in Newcastle.

“The location is perfect, right next to the Quayside and train station, with all shops, restaurants and bars within short walking distance” David T, Verified Resident of The Forge

The heart of the area is Grainger Town, where many of the properties are Grade II or II listed. This is where you will find Grainger Market – Newcastle’s first indoor market and Theatre Royal.

Just to the north of the city centre is Jesmond, popular with students and younger professionals. It is also one of the posh areas of Newcastle. This is one of the most desirable areas of Newcastle and is where you can find Jesmond Three Sixty by Jomast.

Up and coming areas in Newcastle include historic Ouseburn Valley. The once bustling factories and warehouses have been regenerated into a new and vibrant area of the city. Also to the east along the river you will find a suburb called Byker. This area made its name as the setting of BBC TV series Byker Grove, where TV hosts Ant and Dec found fame. It is also home to one of Newcastle’s most well-known housing developments, Byker Wall.

“There are some really great bars and nightlife, but the area is still quiet enough at night. The views over the water are great, especially with the sunrise.” David C, Tenant of Quayside Lofts

Newcastle, served by the Metro system, offers convenient connectivity around the city. Over 60% of the population of Newcastle live within a mile of a station; and as you move further from a station house prices reduce. In addition homes closer to stations are worth more and bought and sold less often.

The place is really close to the metro station which is really convenient for when you’re traveling or using the train or metro. There are many shops and restaurants close by so is the quayside and the river

Please review your development:

The building design is beautiful, it’s aesthetically pleasing and you can choose from a variety of different rooms and apartments. We have different facilities in the forge ranging from a gym a common room where you can study chill and watch movies and even a courtyard if you wanted to smoke. Management is run by an app and everything is easy and staff are friendly

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

One thing I would’ve loved to know was that it’s about a 15 min walk to the city center. That’s the only downside I could think of really

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I haven’t raised any issues up to this date but I’m sure management has 24/7 help through the up.

The flat is close to the city center and the main amenities like bars, restaurants and shops.
It is just five minutes walk from the train and metro station, which is very good.

Expensive but very modern / professional

Right behind central station. Not too loud at night, the odd dog barking (we’ve a dog park in the courtyard) but nothing too severe – the worst is when the arena has an event on.

Please review your development:

The flats look beautiful, if you live in them for years you’ll notice the quality isn’t amazing. But management will replace faulty appliances without question, always friendly and willing to help. There’s an on-site gym too which has most equipment!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The proximity to the train line! Freight trains go into all hours of the morning..

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Promptly and professionally resolved all issues relating to broken/faulty appliances, management are more reluctant to fix cosmetic damage.
