Besides this, a third of Sheffield lies within the bounds of the Peak District National Park. With so much fresh air and freedom available to its residents, it’s understandable why the city attracts families and those looking for a balance between urban and country living. And as a major retail and cultural hub, there’s plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment to up your excitement too.

The results of the combined CV-Library and Zoopla survey showed this was partly due to the city’s relatively low living costs, which had a positive effect on disposable income.

The city also sits on the Trans Pennine Trail, a National Cycle Network route running from Southport in Merseyside to Hornsea in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The trail also connects Leeds to Chesterfield.
