West One is a long established family run business that provides accommodation for more than 1350 students in Sheffield.  Their properties usually provide all inclusive bills in a range of properties to suit individuals by way of rooms & studios, as well as groups of students of 2 or 3 right the way through to houses for 10. Their aim is to provide “the highest of standards at an affordable price”.

Awesome flat for couples

Design of the room is awesome, nice visibility through the windows. Facilities are really good. Building and property management take care of all the aspects in daily basis so happy with that.
I have only one suggestion that when we move to this tenency with 6 months give us little more time to re think whether we are extending the tenency or not.
With in a short time they made a viewing of our room and now am ready to extend but its already gone from September

Am staying in porterbrook central apartment 11.Am so happy to stay here, its a highly pleasant room with all facilities. Me and my wife working as care assistants so flexible to worklife and the citylife. Am using the parking space its highly protected. Bin storages, corridors all are well maintained so happy to be here. If anything eg. Room check or decoration,The management will inform earlier. Really quite place to live in

The key collection should be made a day before in the evening just a suggestion. I got the key in the afternoon that the day am starting my tenency

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Highly appreciation given to the management, if there is anything they will answer the call and make the solution.

Good if you’re looking for a studio, probably better options elsewhere.

The property is all inclusive with bills but with recent rent increase has decreased in value for money. The flats are finished to high standards but maintenance for finishings is limited. My unit had some water damage to the floor which has not been repaired. However, they are great with repainting, plumbing, electricals etc (the essentials). Security is ok although some packages have been stolen before. Carpark is not secure as a couple cars have been broken into recently.

The area is amazing. Very close to supermarkets (3 min for M&S, 5 min for Waitrose, 10 min for Tesco), Moor Market (10 min), West St (15 min) and Margate (20 min). Lots of amazing restaurants and bars nearby.

Although the deluxe studios all cost the same, the corner units and ones on the same side as the 1 bedroom apartments are larger. In Porterbrook North, try to sign for a south facing flat.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Like above they have been great with maintenance. I understand why they may not have repaired the water damage to the floor. They had also let the flat that I viewed and signed for and gave me a smaller unit with a north facing window (I signed for a south facing, larger flat).

The flats are designed nicely, they are modern and lovable

The flats are designed nicely, they are modern and lovable. This is the first flat my boyfriend and I have lived in, we are happy to be proud of the flats we live in as they’re bright, airy and generally clean.
The bin store is a huge down fall, as the development is near a river and the bin store is open aired there is a huge rat problem.
Deliveries can be awkward too as there is no safe place for deliveries if you are out at the time of delivery.

close to work places, shops and restaurants but traffic can be very noise and high crime rate

I wish I had known that there is no safe place for deliveries

it is very good value for money

The property is well maintained and clean. The facilities provided with the property are excellent and it is very good value for money. Unfortunately, it can be a little inconvenient getting parcel delivery and there is no social area. Very minor point but the TV’s are a little small for the relative seating position and it is difficult to swap this with a personal TV. The fridge space is limited however there is plenty of cupboard space. The work surfaces are on the smaller side if you have a lot of kitchen appliances however plenty for 1 person. The heating is very efficient and works well in winter. The maintenance team are very helpful and respond to issues quickly. Parking has been available since I moved in.

Excellent area to live with lots of bars and restaurants. Easy access to supermarkets and can walk into town. Very close access to the Peak District.

Parking permits are usually available although it is stated as subject to availability.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

There is an online system which you can log issues onto. They tend to respond quickly to issues and have fixed them quickly.
