The design and layout of this Persimmon estate is pretty good and there are some nicely designed houses

We have a lot of restaurants and takeaways, including a lovely Italian restaurant and a good fish and chippy in Rothwell, plus a good butchers, a small Co-op and a small Tesco. There are a couple of small parks within the town ans some good field and wood walks close to our estate. There is a pretty good bus service with regular trips to Kettering, Corby, and Market Harborough, plus mainline railway stations in nearby Kettering and Market Harborough. BarnOwl Drive is nice and quiet and our house is just opposite a small estate green with trees and shrubs, we have good parking with a decent sized garage, and two car drive space, plus some visitor parking slots just close by. We have weekly bin collections and have not experienced any anti social behaviour in our part of the estate.

Please review your development:

The design and layout of this Persimmon estate is pretty good and there are some nicely designed houses, including our Blakesley Corner house, they have included some nice green areas, one of which is quite large and has two small water lakes in it. Unfortunately the completion of our house was delayed by about 4 months from the original estimated slot, due to both a shortage of materials and building folk. Some of the quality of the building work of our house was not very good and there were also a lot of snags. However, the local building management folk have generally been very helpful. Our garden is a nice size for a modern estate house and is not badly overlooked, but for some reason it has no real topsoil, just very heavy base clay with a really large amount of building rubbish in it, so creating our garden beds has proved very hard work.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish we had known that the entry road onto the estate is to become a bypass for Rothwell onto the A6, it isn’t open to public traffic yet but will be soon, which is likely to substantially increase the traffic on the estate.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best features of our house are the good size of our kitchen dinner, and master bedroom with ensuite, good amount of parking and a decent size of garden.

Overall, very pleased!

Everything is still very new, but the area is very quiet and all of our neighbours have been lovely. I’m hoping that a shop will open nearby soon as it would be very handy, but otherwise you’ll have to walk to the town which is only 10/15 minutes.

Please review your development:

I’m very happy with the design of the property, but the only things I would change is the entrance – it would have been nice if it was a little cloak room rather than straight into the living area. Also the garden – we found lots of clay and concrete under the grass which has impacted the growth. I wouldn’t say it was the main reason the grass isn’t growing as we also have a dog! Otherwise, very pleased with our property.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Check for any snags before moving in so they’re all sorted by the time you move it. Just less to worry about so you can focus on moving in.

What is the best feature of your home:

I love the ensuite! Very spacious and lots of storage!

It’s really nice and quiet where we are, ideally we would prefer some more shops closer by but the town centre is only a 10 minute walk away

Please review your development:

We were really pleased with our first home. It’s a 3 bedroom house, very spacious and perfect to suit our needs. When we first moved in persimmons we’re really helpful and provided us with a skip to help move our cardboard out from our new stuff. We completed our snag list and they made sure this was completed as quickly as possible. Overall we feel very well looked after

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Overall we were well informed with the aspects of our home, there were no surprises.

What is the best feature of your home:

We have plenty of space in every room. Not one room is too small

Rothwell is a lovely market town with all amenities close by. So far traffic noise is a minimum. .

Please review your development:

We like our house very much but some areas quality of materials / fitting lets it down. However many things have been rectified by the builders in a good timescale. We have nice large bedrooms which is hard to find for new builds. Flooring is poor c.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

To get our own flooring as the quality of the standard flooring is awful
