Best of both worlds in Hammersmith & Fulham

Hammersmith & Fulham treads the line between peaceful riverside community and thriving commercial hub. And it does so with style. Down by the Thames, it’s all about leafy walks and cosy roasts in authentic boozers. Away from the water, though, the pace picks up. Hammersmith central is the HQ of major companies like Disney and L’Oréal, so on weekdays, expect hordes of commuting professionals dashing in and out of the high streets’ coffee shops.

Hammersmith & Fulham nightlife

The area brags one of West London’s most exciting after-dark scenes. Hammersmith, in particular, has great live music venues, which welcome a mix of well-known and up-and-coming artists. The most iconic is undoubtedly the Apollo, an entertainment institution that welcomes everyone from Paul Weller to Russell Brand to the stage. Meanwhile, in Fulham, there are immaculate, bloom-cloaked gastropubs and chic wine bars at every turn.

Shopping in the area

Residents have lots of retail choice here. Hammersmith & Fulham has a handful of shopping centres, including Fulham Broadway and Kings Mall. There’s no competing with nearby Westfields, though – this colossal Shepherds Bush mall has around 250 classic department stores, high street brands and designer boutiques. Alternatively, there’s pretty Brackenbury Village for established independents with character.

Schools and parks

Elsewhere, Hammersmith & Fulham boasts top private schools and plentiful parkland. A family favourite is Fulham’s Bishops Park, which counts tennis courts, a sculpture garden and a man-made beach among its facilities. Hammersmith’s waterfront Furnivall Gardens is another popular spot – especially for picnics and sunbathing in the summer months.

Old London Houses

Good connections

Lastly, the area is extremely well located. Hammersmith benefits from four lines split between two stations – Circle, District, Piccadilly and Hammersmith & City. As for Fulham, it’s serviced by three tube stations, all of which are on the District line. To give you an idea of what’s where – you can reach Piccadilly Circus from the borough in 16 minutes, Victoria in 20, and Kings Cross in 24. Plus, the borough is close to the A4 and M4 – ideal for when it’s time to escape the capital.

HomeViews reviewer verdict…
“Historically W12 is a rather run-down area that’s undergone a spectacular renovation over the last six years. I’d be surprised if anyone would go badly wrong by buying here.”

Great location. The rest is terrible.

Review Date Sep 2022

Leakage in eletrict box.
Crazy neighbours jumping up and down (some secondary school kids)
Super high heating bill due to the public area is always heated even in summer.
Stolen parcel every month.

if you join the Facebook group of us you will know I’m telling the truth

Please review your development:

terrible house.
No privacy. You smell neighbour smoking and cooking and watching TV.
Walls are super thin.
Leakage in public area very often.
The doors are not able to be properly closed.
The management company centric say they are working on it.
But every time it’s fixed, it breaks in one week. Thus a lot of issues with stolen parcel.
If you call the metropolitant police and tell them you are Gooch house, they knew where you leave because we are famous in their system.
How do I know? I made my first 999 call in my first month here and they told me 🙂

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Heating is terribly high.
The neighbours are not the worst, but some teen are crazy.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

terrible
very slow response.
The can focus on one thing at a time. But there are so many issue going on.

Non existent management but great area!

The area is great to live, with lidl, sainsburys, wilkos and ikea very close by.
Ravenscourt park is also a short walk which is great for dog owners!

Please review your development:

Building management is non existent… we have had to get the council involved with issues we have been facing.
There have been tenants who have been fined as the building management neglected to get the doors fixed so parcels were stolen and littered the streets.
The actual flat is lovely to live in (apart from issues we have had to get the council involved in). But the flat is probably only nice due to the fact that we do not rent directly from the building management

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish I would have known how awful the building management was

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Absolutely not. As mentioned, we have had to get the council involved in issues that they have ignored for several months

Awful! Worst building ever

Review Date Sep 2022

The area is good, Hammersmith is nice place to live and the riverside is great.

Please review your development:

The building is just 10 years old and has seen (and still see) the longest number of issues, from water leaks, smell in the corridors, super high termostatare in the corridors during all year (in summer feels like 50 degrees), lift broken multiple times, mice’s getting in flats, continuous stealing of delivery packages in the hall, broken glass of the main door, bikes stolen multiple times… do I need to keep going??
In one word, don’t even think one second this build is good, because it’s NOT.
Stay away

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just do not move here

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very bad, takes ages to get something fixed.
Lift broken for multiple weeks, access to the building broken , leakages, bike stolen etc

Abysmal Management

Review Date Sep 2022

*name removed* was very impolite, disrespectful, and dismissive. He obviously did not care about my business. Maybe because I am not from the country and calling from abroad? I should have taken the hint and not proceed with this deal as I find myself now in a cannabis infested property and police came yesterday distributed papers to all tenants with regard to this issue.

Arjun has provided us with false information with regard to payment options and we were stuck. Reggie again was very disrespectful and impolite and caused us major stress.

Please review your development:

Infested with cannabis smoking. Dexters property management is abysmal. All round bad. Just find somewhere else or at least not via Dexters.

I have been here about a month and a problem with the balcony door has been reported the day I moved in. This problem has not been fixed yet.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Popularity of Cannabis use
How abysmal Dexters property management is

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Extremely poorly if any
E.g., it took them two weeks to fix a simple problem (3 minutes). The problem is clear in the inventory, yet they didn’t mention it before hand or fix it.
