It is a great location with Chelmsford city centre only a 10 min walk away

It is a great location with Chelmsford city centre only a 10 min walk away, which lots of shops, restaurants, bars and parks.
The train station is less than 20 mins away.
One Canelside has the potential to be great but currently the parking situation is terrible, the bin stores are a horrible mess, bin collections are infrequent and the area needs security that moves on undesireables instead of trying to ticket the residents for parking.

Please review your development:

My partner and I lived in One Canelside for 1 year but felt we had to move due to the massive and unreasonable increase in the rent price after the first year. It was reduced a bit upon challenging but we brought a flat in another building on the same street because it was better value for money.
I had a bike stolen due to poor security that I had been chellenging since we moved in. The security was eventully changed to how I suggested but my bike was gone with no acknowledgement from property management or Legal & General.
The onsite management were friendly but sat around doing nothing. Why it needed so many of them on site is bemusing. If anything went wrong they could not deal with it properly first time.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The quality of the furniture, security, parking and on site management.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very poorly. Ask those that still live at One Canalside amount the water.

Nice site

Review Date Feb 2024

Close to town, quiet area, close to train station, walking distance to everything. Very nice area.

Please review your development:

Great location, close to the town. Nice working from home space and games room. Nice to have staff onsite for any issues. Could use more visitor parking as there are only 3 spaces currently but that is only a small downside as there is a car park for town down the road

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t know about the events which is a great addition

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are very responsive to emails and can always go to the office to see them. Very helpful

Amazing location and development, just a shame about the parking

Amazing local area with loads of local shops, restaurants and cafes. Only a 20 min walk to the station which is perfect

Please review your development:

Development is lovely and always clean. Resident area is quiet and walls are thick so you cannot hear neighbours. Only complaint of this development would be the parking, you are asked to pay an extra £100 a month to park on site, which I do believe is a fair price considering the surrounding area. However the parking premises are not run very well as residence who pay this premium tend to receive parking fines even if they pay this monthly fee. Definitely something that needs to be improved.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The parking is managed by an external company. Not the building management themselves

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Have had no maintenance issues raised. Only issue has been with parking and they cannot help with this as they use an external company
