Aberdeenshire

Set within easy reach of the Cairngorms National Park, the city of Aberdeen was named as the best place to live and work in Scotland in a 2019 report by Demos-PwC. Alongside the stunning local scenery, another of the reasons for this was the low property prices relative to earnings. This offers residents an excellent standard of living – driven in large part by the oil and gas industry. The lively harbour city is also known as the ‘Granite City’ or ‘Silver City’ thanks to its historic granite buildings.

The location is great as it walking distance from the beach and city centre. It is also quiet enough to avoid the noisy city night life. There are multiple grocery shops and restaurants near by along with sport facilities. There is also a bus stop right outside the development.

Review Date Oct 2023

It’s only really Good, its right in the heart of the city, so there is access to everything and as a student at university of aberdeen. I am able to get transportation to and fro from both the medical campus and old Aberdeen campus at a bus stop in front of the accomodation and just beside.

The gym facility is amazing, for basic beginners its got everything you need.

The TV room is massive and accomodating and feels cinema like.

The study space is very homely and you will manage to get so much work done.

The lounge and garden room are very scenery pleasing, like if you just need a cup of tea and relaxation u got that

All the beds are double beds. And the hob is not induction, so works with all pots and pans. The microwave oven is a little confusing to get the hang of.
– things i had to specifically ask about

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I’ve yet to have any issues. But know that through the residents portal they are very quick to act.

The Point is perfectly situated in the city centre of Aberdeen, so all nice restaurants, bars, cafes are ALWAYS at a short walking distance. There are excellent public transit connections on Union street, which is only a 3-5 minute walk away. Due to the location, it can be a bit noisy at night on the weekends if the window is open, but they are sound proofed well if you close them.

Please review your development:

The building is very modern and beautifully designed throughout. All rooms and public areas are spotless and it is very clear it was designed with attention to detail. Have been told its the nicest looking interior in Aberdeen! With the garden room, homework room, open patios and lounge there is ample space to study, chat or sunbathe if it’s nice out.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would make sure to specify what your window view looks like prior to moving in. If you live behind thee giant point, it can obstruct some of your view. This wasn’t a problem for me, but it can be very important!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any maintenance requests are answered and completed within 24 hours, if not less in my case. The online portlal is also very user friendly to request these.

Great City Living

Review Date Oct 2023

The area is located in the city center, you have access to all the nearest restaurants, bars & travel routes. If you like living in a safe area and relatively busy area then this location is perfect.

Please review your development:

The building has amazing decor and attention to detail has been considered with the layout of the building, although I wish the windows would open fully. The people there are friendly and there’s always events to help keep residents social. Special mention to Vishaal, Jordan and Phil on always being cheerful and always assisting.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew that you would have to pay for laundry and that the service is not free

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are quick to respond and are always ready to assist / however with the recent building developments on the building I wish they offered residents a discount on rent as it was an inconvenience for residents experiencing disruption to their rooms
