Mount Anvil reviews

River cafe and Plum Cafe – two vastly different cafes with very different price points but just two wonderful examples of some great local places on my doorstep! I love renting here, I couldnt get a flat with a river view but the location close to Hammersmith and the river is perfect and gives me the space and everything I need.” – Anonymous, verified resident at Queen’s Wharf

My dream apartment on the river

The development is attractive and very well done. I am delighted with my apartment which was finished to a high standard with choice of 2 different colour schemes for floors and tiles etc. The appliances are top quality. The second bedroom is rather small with disproportionately large bathroom. The main criticism is noice from the soil stack pipes in master bathroom from flats above and clear that the contractor cut corners. The concierge area is very stylish but the carpark, lifts and some other common parts were very late in being finished because of works at Riverside Studios and still not very satisfactory. Mount Anvil, has on the whole, been very responsive to any issues in my flat and quick to sort out snagging but there are still some ongoing issues with building as a whole.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is very special. Fabulous location with views of the river and Hammersmith bridge, walkway along the Thames Path with all the pubs and handy for the underground and local shops. Having Riverside Studios in the same complex is a huge bonus.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The sales team were very charming and persuasive but not open about the space beneath and oversold the apartment . The handover was perfunctory and some complicated features like the heating/cooling not adequately explained.

What is the best feature of your home:

The master bedroom is best room in the flat – views of the river in two directions, lovely balcony and very stylish bathroom.

Nice design apartments!

The design of the flats is very nice and very well thought. I like the different styles of the flats and my favourite is dark style. It took very long time to complete the pool and gym facilities but the design of the pool is very nice and stylish. The gym , however, I feel should be much bigger for a huge development like that. The concierge team are nice and helpful. The downstairs of my house entrance (2 Exchange Gardens) looks a bit worn out now so I guess will need a re paint soon. I have also noticed that other entrances have LED screens which are missing in 2 Exchange Gardens.

Otherwise, it still a good development which I would recommend to others.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Vauxhall is very close to Central London, however the area is still developing and feels unsafe. It is very dirty, often with rubbish being spread everywhere, it is not safe at night, and local authority should be monitoring this area more closely. Additionally, there are no cafes, nice shops or places around here apart from Sainsbury’s and Starbucks. The area definitely needs an upgrade to match the house prices here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew how dangerous and dirty Vauxhall can be. There is also a lot of construction going on which can get very noisy and dusty when opening the window.

What is the best feature of your home:

The dark style kitchen and bathroom are very stylish.

Modern canalside living with a view

Chronicle Tower is a modern development with stunning floor to ceiling windows with views of the London skyline. The bright, open flats feel much larger than they are and with fantastic built in amenities from Siemens and other high quality brands it is the perfect base for a young professional.

Walking distance to both Old Street / Angel, it is a great location for a lively nightlife. Also located on the canal, it is within walking distance of a number of sights such as London Zoo, Camden Market and London Fields.

The concierge team are very helpful and the building facilities are great for the casual gym goer.

Overall I would recommend to anyone wanting to live in the area.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Old Street / Angel are perfect for young professionals with great bars, restaurants and cafes as well as great transport links throughout London.

Regents Canal is a great link to a number of areas such as Camden, London Fields and even as far afield as Stratford.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Expenses other than the norm, such as the climate cooling within the building.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Quick response to issues, however occasionally delays in getting the landlord to approve budgets for repairs.

Good experience but could be improved

The development is very modern, clean and well looked after. There is a concierge service, a gym below (though no discounts for tenants), and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. The drawbacks are the noise – although it appears a quiet development, the windows are very thin and there is a lot of shouting at night, plus you can hear the Nine Elms development through much of the night. We have also had many problems with postbox access and our intercom system and the concierge are not able to help as this is the landlord’s responsibility – however, the property company send us straight back to the concierge – very frustrating!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good selection of restaurants, some very run down though. Very close to Stockwell and Vauxhall stations which is very handy.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The property is much noisier than expected and the location is a bit rougher than imagined too.
