I have found a place I can call home.

I must say this is hands-down the best apartment building ever. I had lived in many nice apartments in London over the years but none quite like this. The building is brand-new and looks stylish and spotless. There is a fantastic Clubhouse available exclusively for residents should you feel like hanging out with friends, playing pool table or simply chilling. Residents have also access to a compact yet functional gym. I have found a place I can call home!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area in which this outstanding development is located is without a doubt the one reason why you should move here tomorrow. The Whitmore Collection is perfectly positioned in the heart of the city of Birmingham, the Jewellery Quarter. This area is vibrant, young and stunning. I’m in love with the marvellous water canals, with the countless choices of restaurants and bars as well as the modern and immaculate architecture. Everything is within walking distance, including the enchanted Brindleyplace, which is exactly what I wanted.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

At risk of sounding like a broken record, I’m going to once again praise the neighbourhood. Safe, full of amenities, lively and clean. In short, extraordinarily charming.

What is the best feature of your home:

I genuinely didn’t expect the development to be located in such a strategically extraordinary area. There is an infinite amount of amenities within walking distance. My absolute favourite has to be the enviable canals.

Manager Response

Bless you Andrea,
As I read, I found myself thinking, “Best apartment building ever? Ever, Ever?…Ever, Ever? Wow, I wanna live here!”
-Reality check- I work here.
And just as you call us Home, we consider you Family.
Thank you.

Why the West Tower is a great place to live!

Having lived in Beetham Tower for three years prior to moving into West Tower, I was lucky enough to see the buidling go up and was immediately struck by the fantastic external surfaces/cladding design patterns which give the building a strong sort of sci-fi sort of look which woudn’t have looked out of place in the Blade Runner films or Metropolis!

The facilities both in the building and in my Apt are excellent. So much so that during my Covid shielding lockdown period of 17 weeks earlier in the year I had enough room (much larger than my previous Apt) to walk around the perimeter of my Apt to get some exercise which helped keep me sane!

It’s great to have building management people on site 24/7 to fix any issues which are always completed speedily & efficiently. Regarding my Apartment I was allowed to make changes to the Internal decor (Blackout blinds & adding a projection screen) when I moved in and staff were always on hand to help out with securing tall furniture to walls etc.

The best part of the service though was the support provided by the Concierges, Lettings Staff & Managers is that everyone was always on hand to help and go the extra mile if necessary. This includes a Lettings Agent doing my shopping / collecting my repeat prescription for me on a regular basis without which I would have not have been able to stay at home during my shielding period.

The reason I moved into West Tower from Beetham Tower was the increase in apartment space, the reduced leasing costs and the up-to-date modern facilities available including 1Gb Fibre-Optic Broadband & SKY Q. Finally being able to rent the Apt unfurnished helped me to relocate a significant amount of personal belongings from my local storage space which had languished there for the last 3 years which enabled me to make considerable savings.

Having owned several houses in and around Manchester for 25 years and having rented 3 apartments in Manchester for the last 6 years or so, I feel strongly that whereas I would call the other Apartments ‘temporary accomodation’ that the West Tower with all its superb amenties & great staff is somewhere I can finally call ‘home’ again.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Likes: – Great location distance-wise for the Metrolink which gives ‘on the doorstep access’ to the whole of Greater Manchester and beyond. Obviously fantastic access to some of the best restauarant & bars in the NW, if not the country. These premises seem to be in a contsant state of flux, if something doesn’t quite prove succesful then it is replaced in a short space with something invariably better and more cutting edge. Manchester has finally been succesful in securing a Michelin star for the first time in 50 years for the ‘Mana’ restaurant in the Northern Quarter (NQ). The renowned Observer food critic, Jay Rayner has highly recommended a wide range of eateries in Greater Manchester which is always a good sign that Manchester is now firmly on the UK ‘foodie heaven’ map. The range of bars available in Manchester (especially in the NQ) is second to none.

Dislikes: – A minor point, as ever, there are a considerble amount of new tower buildings being built in Manchester at the moment, some of which are very close by. In the main the noise created from these new builds is barely audibale in my Apartment if the 3 Door/Windows are kept closed, but when open it can sometimes get very loud. This is only a minor issue though and doesn’t impact on the living experience.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

My superb Lettings agent fully covered all aspects of the Apartment facilits with me prior to signing the lease and so there is nothing I can think of that falls into this category!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The only thing I would change would be for the Apt to have Air conditioning installed. Both last summer & this have seen fairly extreme temperatures which, even with the blinds closed in the living room have still led to the room being uninhabitable on some days!

Blackhorse Mills is like a home to me and my family

Staff were professional and very accommodating. They offer help in any circumstances when approached if there is any problem exist. The facilities is excellent and i enjoyed staying in here and would like to extend my stay. I would like to extend my greetings to the team for their excellent job.

The design of the property is very modern and up to date model. The ground floor in the garden by the tennis court was amazing offering a big place for the kids and pets to walk and play around. The concierge team in the front desk and the admins are very friendly, accommodating and listened well of any concerns we have. The maintenance team is energetic and solved any issues promptly and professionally. Overall management and facilities is excellent .

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There is a good range of choices of local shops around the area which is close-by. There is Cooperative shop which is 2-3 minutes away walking distance. There is 24 hours off licence also close to Cooperative shop and there is a Turkish restaurant available for eating in and take-away meals. The Tesco shop is also closeby walking distance and one Asian shop that offers a variety of Asian groceries . Fish and chip and chicken restaurant is also available for eating in and takeaway walking distance only.

Tottenham Hale is also very close which has a lot of choices of shops and restaurant and cafe which is 15-20 minutes walk or 5 minutes by bus. Good transport choices very convenient. three choices of transport from underground and overground and buses. If there is problem with trains buses is available. The street is peaceful and safe. Bin chutes sometimes have issue that needs repair but main bin room area is accessible downstairs. Good sound proof in our walls and windows as i can’t hear traffic noises outside my apartment.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If any playground facilities available for children, it is good for families who has childrens.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Whenever issues raised of concerns the management replies email quickly and responded with thorough explanation and what is the steps to deal with the issue.

Amazing rental experience!

Overall, this is a great building and community to live in. Even though the exterior is not the most attractive in my opinion, the interior more than makes up for it. The furniture and design all feel very modern, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. The bedrooms are very cosy and the beds are probably the best I have ever slept on.
The staff are all incredibly helpful and pleasant. They give everything a personal touch and make your stay so much better.
The amenities are great, especially the residents lounge. It feels like home being down there with the TV, the ample seating, hot drinks and WiFi.
I do believe that the parking situation is not ideal as it is quite expensive to park in the building as well as the NCP. It would be good if they had some sort of deal with the NCP to provide cheaper parking for residents.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is perfect as it is pretty much in the heart of the city but just outside so there is some peace and quiet. Being next to the canal is lovely and the green space outside is very pleasant.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I would have known about the poor parking situation before moving in.

Buying into a lifestyle…if it’s built!

My experience with spring wharf has been up and down. Most staff couldn’t help you enough (with the easy things) but sometimes the nitty gritty has been painful to get dealt with.
I don’t think it’s a bad service, but the standards have to meet the presentation. A little more honesty for timelines & facilities.

I felt that moving in and getting us here was easy. However a few areas like the residents lounge fell a little flat of the expectation.

Also timelines, we still live within a building site, which was to be completed 6months who from when I moved it.

It’s merely a situation of don’t sell me what you don’t have until you have it. Or discount it until
You do. I bought it to a lifestyle and haven’t yet received that.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Dislike heavily- the main road outside it’s like a race track on a daily basis

Heat-the flats hold a lot of heat to a unbearable level. If the worlds going to increase building insulation then add air con. Passing out from heat has been closed. Having a pet would be cruel!

Parking- more expensive that London! £125 per car, per month! (Just ended up clogging up the streets whilst a car park below isn’t being used)

Likes-building design, gym, bbq ares, residents
Deck!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How noisy the main road outside is (I wouldn’t have moved in)

How hot the flats become

The kitchen/living room combo (too small, to enjoy)
