Located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, The Whitmore Collection is a development managed by urbanbubble. It features a range of 1 & 2 bedroom canal-side apartments and townhouses set across a trio of sites on Newhall Square. These feature high-quality appliances and finishes with the option of bespoke furniture included in your rent. In addition, every apartment has electric heating and video security intercom along with speedy 100MB Virgin broadband. Residents have access to a range of services and amenities including no letting fees, 24/7 concierge and flexible tenancies. Enjoying life at The Whitmore

The Whitmore is in a fantastic location, with the Jewellery Quarter and the city right on your doorstep, and great walks along the meandering canals. We’re really enjoying our time here. The apartments are nicely designed, very modern, clean and stylish. The gym and Resident Lounge are also lovely – it’s great to have a gym on site, though we don’t use it as much as we should (lazy!). At one point we had a misunderstanding with an email request and the GM was very quick to respond once we alerted staff to the error. They’ve also been quick to respond if we had to submit a maintenance request – it’s nice to know we have people on site to deal with any issues. We’d definitely recommend checking out The Whitmore.

There are some great local restaurants, cafes and bars in the Jewellery Quarter, all within walking distance, and a little Co-op two doors down from the apartment building. Convenient! St Paul’s Square is a block away – a lovely place to sit after grabbing a coffee from Saint Kitchen. New Street station is a 10-minute walk, so it’s great for anyone needing to commute.

The building is well-designed; the range of facilities give the apartments a hotel-like feel. Access to the gym, private dining room, workspaces, TV/games room and cosy corners dotted around give the complex a unique edge over other apartments. It is a well-kept building with modern-traditional decor which retains the area’s cultural history whilst remaining contemporary.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The Whitmore Collection is in a great location; it is a walkable distance to the city centre and grocery shops are a stone’s throw away. There is a range of highly-reviewed restaurants and lovely bars very close by.
New Street Station is a short walk and there are several bus stops nearby. Despite having such a central location, noise is minimal making these apartments peaceful to live in.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I’ve encountered no issues since living in the building; the staff are always willing to help and maintenance are quick to respond.

The building design is well thought through, especially the internal courtyard between the buildings is a nice touch, providing some green area and outdoor place for the residents. The residents amenities also go beyond the normal standards, with the Clubhouse catering for various community needs. The apartments are spacious with good floorplans, and the furnished ones are actually quite nicely fit out.

The location of the Whitmore Collection is unparalleled. It is within walking distance to both the city centre and also the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, which means all amenities are on your doorstep.

I was pleasantly surprised that there is Travelodge adjacent to the Whitmore, which will be very handy when friends or relatives come to visit.

Any queries are answered promptly with the building management being always super friendly.

The development has been incredibly well planned and continues to be well run. The staff are fantastic and run a very tight ship! The parking can cause issues as there is a waiting list for a space. The facilities in the building are fantastic though – the private kitchen, the social space and the gym are all a great addition. The flats are brilliantly designed and a joy to live in.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Incredibly close to St Paul’s Square which gives you great access to lots of independent cafes and restaurants as well as open green space. The city centre itself is still only 5-10 minutes walk away. A big supermarket is a little further to walk to but the Co-op is very conveniently located for small purchases. I have no problems with the traffic noise at all in my flat but parking is limited.

Incredible soundproofing in the building. I’m a musician and don’t have to worry about disturbing the neighbours! Equally brilliant for those tenants with pets.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quick response to a maintenance issue which was resolved with no mess or fuss! Didn’t even have to wait in the property.

The building has been designed with a community in mind so we are very glad to know you are enjoying the facilities quality of the apartments. Unfortunately the car park is in incredibly high demand and we only have 61 spaces for our 220 properties. We will try to get a parking space for you as soon as possible. Hopefully the street parking permit option is helping until we can get you a space.

The management are responsive and helpful and friendly and make it a great place to live. The building is well maintained and looked after, The bin room is clean and emptied regularly . The building has excellent communal facilities with Wifi accessible.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good location for shops incl tesco and co op and with in minutes away from city centre. The office building across the road leave their lights on at night which is dissappointing on so many levels least of light pollution, waste of energy and costly to the organisation and the planet. There is noise mainly on a Saturday night from party goers and there is a lot of building work going on around. Parking is limited and hard to find on street but there is a NCP. The best thing about living here is being able to watch the canal boats go by.

The office building leaves its lights on a nigh which i dont think is a good thing. Location of this apartment block is good for city centre, train station and then the airport. A bit of noise from party goers on a the weekend. This apartment block is clean and well maintained.

Speedy response to deal with the one issue Ive had since i moved in.

Lovely brand new apartments in a great area of Birmingham

The whole process of visiting, making an offer and signing the contract is quite clear and straightforward. Staff is very friendly and always helpful, with inquires and maintenance when necessary. The design of the apartment is of good taste, and everything is pretty functional, and the windows all over the apartment are a game changer, given the UK typical weather is nice to have natural light and sunshine.

The Jewellery Quarter is one of the best areas to live in Birmingham, from the Whitmore you can find squares, cafes, bars, restaurants, shopping mall, train station and all the facilities in a range of 15min walking distance. The are is quite nice, and the canals are charming, it is pleasant to sleep with the water natural and smooth background.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The things that I could share here are not related to the landlord, but to the UK utilities system. As an expat I was not aware of everything, but someone from the staff took their time to help me.

We have asked for minor maintenance and they took care of it.

The property management team are outstanding. They go above & beyond to help and make it a real pleasure to live in this development. Facilities in the development are excellent; concierge service, gym, residents lounge etc. and the apartments are finished to a high spec. Would highly recommend.

Lovely quiet area with minimal noise from traffic. Canal-side development with footpath into city centre. Very convenient location: less than 10 mins walk to city centre, main train stations and big supermarket.

Area seems to be very up and coming with lots of new developments being built in the JQ.

I am a civil engineer and have been involved in high rise residential buildings in London and outside UK. This is definitely one of the best buildings I have seen, The facilities, building management are exemplary. The design of the windows could have been better.

The location is very nice and the building is well managed. Feeling very safe and the concierge service provided is very helpful.

The team had been very flexible to provide the contract and accommodate my requests to make my relocation very smooth and comfortable.

I am very happy with the quality of my development. I love all things beautiful and find it important for a place to have good exterior as well as interior design. I’ve been very satisfied with the quality of finishes and the overall look of my development, flat. Property Management is very welcoming, helpful and responsive. My development is being cleaned and maintained right along. Gym, lounge and other facilities are maintained and look great. Property Management doing an amazing job at keeping high standards, providing good communication and updates on everything that is going on (i.e. maintenance works, package deliveries, upcoming events and so much more). All issues/questions/requests are being resolved in a timely and effective manner.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I’ve been extremely pleased with the location. The area has everything necessary to it and even more. Very central but has a cozy, homey feel to it. It is safe, quiet and clean. Range of grocery stores all located within short walking distance, beautiful views, parks, cafe shops/pubs/restaurants, galleries, etc. It is easy to get around, it takes a 5-10 min walk to get to most central locations. Commuting to any area of the city is made easy as different types of public transport (busses, trams, trains) available.
