The Staff at The Slate Yard is what makes the biggest difference for me – they treat me like a friend!! They are so helpful and caring, always greeted with a friendly smile. No question or problem is ever too big or unreasonable and resolved as a matter of urgency.
The building itself is beautifully designed and the interiors are very high quality, there are 3 buildings onsite, all pet friendly. The common parts are like a boutique hotel and always immaculate. The amenities are top class, free on-site gym, lounges are great for people to socialise, study, work, play board games, read and multiple selection of hot drinks available 24/7 for free.
The outside premises are really well maintained and looked after, perfect for my dog to run around or to sit outside on a sunny day and read a book.
I can not recommend The Slate Yard enough, I made the best decision moving here 3 years ago!

One (there are many!!) of the reasons why I chose to live at the Slate Yard is because I felt save! Perfect location – a few minutes walking distance from Spinningfields, great restaurants and a small Sainsbury’s on your door step. There is a NCP Car Park (unusual building design, which is a lovely change) for visitors driving and only a 10 minute Uber drive from Manchester Piccadilly Station if you have friends or family traveling by train.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Manchester Piccadilly train station is a 25-30min walk away from the location.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
In a friendly, professional manner and resolved as quickly as possible! Can’t fault it.

The facilities have been unusable for long periods
The facilities have been unusable for long periods of time and they don’t do events as often as they promised.
It’s been over advertised management service. The corridor been replaced after the residents complained a few times.
The residents’ bike been stolen from bicycle park after residents have to raised this issue few times and the manage team can take serious with this issue.

It’s great to have Sainsbury next to the slate yard, great transportation with Salford station.
It’s a bit noisy if you open the window, sometimes can smell weed from other apartments.

The Slate Yard advertising the residents’ services team is on hand to listen, respond and take care of any issues, unfortunately we are experiencing no response no one answer calls in the most time.
Before residents moved in . The team handled the residents issue always as priority, but the service has deteriorated.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The team often drop the ball on time sensitive issues and don’t respond quickly.
The residents were experiencing the team is not responding emails or calls. This issue been posted on Facebook community group and hope they can take more serious.
I like the building
The building is good and the areas downstairs are useful. The party room is also good. The live music they have at Summer is very nice and enjoyable. The resident lounge is nice but I don’t use it often. I think the design is nice overall and the free facilities are great.

I like living at The Slate Yard, the apartments are nice and the area is close to centre of Manchester.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
I would have wanted the internet connection to be more stable.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I think the team have been helpful and fixed everything that was broken.
Nice development, nice people
The Slate Yard is well designed and the free dining room is a great perk for hosting guests. The pet friendly areas are great for animal lovers and the community spaces are very nice. The large resident lounge could probably have a bit more personality but it’s a nice quiet area to have a break in.

The local area has improved in the past two years with new restaurants and shops opening. There is a fair bit of construction which can sometimes disrupt traffic provide a lot of noise pollution but the noise has recently reduced.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Despite enjoying the perks of the included amenities (free wi-fi and dining room) and spaces, I wish I’d known how often the building would have construction periods that rendered these spaces unusable.
I also wish the community events would happen more often as this was a key selling point when deciding to live her.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I have lived at this development for almost 4 years and while the on-site staff are pleasant and friendly in person, their ability to keep in touch regarding an issue or follow up on questions has deteriorated.
I would hope that this is a temporary dip in service as the staff are lovely but their ability to respond to questions or help requests needs improvement.
Great Team!
The only item preventing me from giving 5 stars across the board is the new parcel room – and its location. I feel like we have gone from a building with a Concierge to a self serve post office box.
I will note this does not take away from my high ranking of the team the service they provide an quality of interactions and assistance we receive as tenants.

The building management team has always gone above and beyond with any requests I have had come up. I have not had any real issues or problems but have had requests for assistance all of which were met with a positive reaction and very genuine willingness to help.

Everything was handled very well by the building management team so I knew all there was to know
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
I’ve had no issues with the apartment so have had no need to contact building management
Well designed
Well designed and a number of convenient facilities such as the gym and excellent concierge service. Only aspect I would say to be improved is the greater amount of green space available, such as the canal area which could be developed into a nice outside area.

I’m the center of town but fairly quiet. Some noise from construction works.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Maybe the lack of parking within the local area and town.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes, when parcels have been placed in wrong areas in the room, staff are very helpful to relocate them.
Great Place to Live for Young Professionals
Design of the building is lovely. Gym is very good in comparison to most ‘Resident Gyms’ we saw in other properties and did set slate yard apart. Could have used more private study pods as they are always very full and preferred the old business centre! Full Time front of house staff have always been welcoming and helpful when I have needed something.

Enjoy range of local shops/restaurants etc in Manchester City Centre and closeness to Salford central train station. Slate Yard allowing pets is great but sometimes owners let dogs park for extended periods of time. Student parties sometimes annoying but occasions are rare.

Sound proofing between apartments is very good compared to other developments.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
All the issues we have raised have been dealt with quickly by maintenance. Only issue is glide internet who are a little slow to respond to issues we had.
what really sets the Slate Yard apart from other similar developments in Manchester are the amazing staff and sense of community.
I’ve been a resident at the Slate Yard for over 5 years now, much longer than I originally planned. The complex, facilities and apartments are great, but what really sets the Slate Yard apart from other similar developments in Manchester are the amazing staff and sense of community.

The Slate Yard is right next to Spinningfields and a five minute walk from Deansgate and the centre of town. There has been building work, but that is almost complete now, bringing even more amenities to the St John’s development at the opposite side of the river.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Perhaps the building work at the other side of the river, but the large developments are almost complete.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The service from the building management is excellent, everything gets dealt with immediately or as soon as possible. A great team, I couldn’t ask for more!
the new renovations could have received input from residents as they’re the ones actually living there
Design is relatively good, however the new renovations could have received input from residents as they’re the ones actually living there and so can give recommendations that suit their needs the most. For example, there is a huge area in the ground floor of one of the buildings that has a shuffle board in it. No one ever use this. Instead, it could’ve been an additional work space or at least have more commonly used leisure equipment such as a poo table.
One thing that is always excellent is the people who work here. They can’t help you enough and they’re very responsive as well as kind. I’ve had great experiences with pretty much every member of staff and would say this is one of the best aspects of the development.

Good range of shops, bars, pubs and restaurants. Good range of trains.
Lacking a bus route through town and Oxford road.
Unless you have hundreds of pounds to spend per month, parking availability is shocking in this area. Specifically, the slate yard’s parking availability is dismal as well as over priced.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
That the flat would be completely empty upon arrival. I.e there being literally no equipment in there such as an ironing board or kettle or toaster. Simply was just the beds, table and chairs and sofa.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Always well responsive and have had every issue resolved within a good time frame.
Best place to live in Manchester
The front of house team is amazing, always here for a chat and I haven’t asked a question they didn’t have an answer for yet. The shared areas are always spotless and the coffee machine always at the ready. Design is modern and simple, feels very clean and new.

Best place to live in the city! 2 minutes walk from the nearest bars and shops. Building is shielded from the main road and feels super safe to walk around.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
We were scared of potential noise pollution from the construction sites around and road, but cannot hear anything
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
We Always get an aknowledgement within a day of the issue being raised. And an expected date for resolution
