The Slate Yard, M3 Reviews

The Staff at The Slate Yard is what makes the biggest difference for me – they treat me like a friend!! They are so helpful and caring, always greeted with a friendly smile. No question or problem is ever too big or unreasonable and resolved as a matter of urgency.
The building itself is beautifully designed and the interiors are very high quality, there are 3 buildings onsite, all pet friendly. The common parts are like a boutique hotel and always immaculate. The amenities are top class, free on-site gym, lounges are great for people to socialise, study, work, play board games, read and multiple selection of hot drinks available 24/7 for free.
The outside premises are really well maintained and looked after, perfect for my dog to run around or to sit outside on a sunny day and read a book.
I can not recommend The Slate Yard enough, I made the best decision moving here 3 years ago!

One (there are many!!) of the reasons why I chose to live at the Slate Yard is because I felt save! Perfect location – a few minutes walking distance from Spinningfields, great restaurants and a small Sainsbury’s on your door step. There is a NCP Car Park (unusual building design, which is a lovely change) for visitors driving and only a 10 minute Uber drive from Manchester Piccadilly Station if you have friends or family traveling by train.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Manchester Piccadilly train station is a 25-30min walk away from the location.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
In a friendly, professional manner and resolved as quickly as possible! Can’t fault it.

Very impressed with service
We moved into our apartment a couple of days ago, and we’re really impressed with the space. Everything was clean and modern. The only issue we found is that there isn’t enough cupboard space in the kitchen and also the plug sockets all seem to be in one corner of the kitchen, so it’s hard to organise appliances.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
The local area is great. There are a lot of shops close by, plenty of bars and restaurants and it’s only a 15 minute walk to our office.
A downside is there is a lot of construction work going on 24/7.

The plug in the bathroom was broken and Niel came straight away to fix it. He came back 2 days in a row to ensure the plug was fixed correctly and the bathroom was back looking exactly as we found it!
Excellent place to live. Helpful renting and property management staff.
All staff from the renting department and building management office are very friendly and extremely helpful. They made our long journey abroad to UK relaxing and comfortable.
The flat is clean, modern and well designed. The building insulation is also impress me that it help to save a lot of energy in cold time.
We definitely recommend this place to all of you.

The streets sround the development are felt saver than what I expected.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
My door seal was found deformed. We reported the issue to the management office. Their maintenance personnel visited the case and resolve the problem immediately without a second visit.

A place where every one in the slate yard team makes me feel like home
The reception team, maintenance team and letting team are very responsible and hospitality. They made me feel like slate yard is my home. This is important because I am a Chinese and now I work in a foreign country far away from my home. The fallibility is nice too, I like the gym and common room downstairs. My flat is in the corner of the building, so it is close to the main road and railway. But other parts are fine. The flat is new and has a good view as well.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
The local area in general is convenient and has public transportation to go anywhere. The only problem is that the flat closed to the main road and railway could be a bit noisy, but other parts are fine.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
The noise is a problem if the flat is closed to the railway. And the shower space in the ensuite room is a bit small. Other parts are fine.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Mark helped me repaint the room because it has some burning scented candle smell that triggered my asthma. I really appreciate what he did for me. The maintenance team in general is very responsive and does a good job!
Nice place to live
It’s really nice for the price. It has gym and sitting areas if you want to work
The staff is friendly and helpful. There is also an concierge and dedicated mail room
We had couple of issues since we moved in but the facilities manager has been more than helpful to get them sorted, Thanks to Mark Whittaker for sorting out the issues quickly.

Good:
It’s quite central to most things
The aparment itself is quite nice
Bad:
Is bit noisy due to the main road
There is some on-going building works happening near the area.

The tenancy reference checks are bit of a pain to get through
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes in a timely manner they have responded. They ordered thing as needed to replace the cooking hob
compared to all other apartments in Manchester city centre, this is the best one for me
A relatively new building with a modern design. It’s spotless and comfy, with a lot of facilities. The staff here are kind and helpful. But the main reason I chose this apartment is that it has a flexible rent schema. I can decide to extend or terminate the lease agreement by just giving two months’ notice.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
strategic location, many shops and restaurants nearby, and it’s just across the river to my work office
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Amazing place to live
Great location, homely and refurbished flats, amazing facilities and lovely staff and community. Very close to Manchester city centre and Spinningfields. The amenities are amazing, free on-site gym and co-working areas are great for people to socialise, study, work, play board games, read, etc and there is also hot drinks available 24/7 for free.

The location is perfect, it’s a non busy area but at the same time is very close to Manchester city centre. The are a lot of restaurants, shops and bars around. I don’t really have anything negative to say!

Great place to live
Excellent location, close to the city centre and Spinningfeilds with lots of bars and restaurants to enjoy. A 2-minute walk from a small supermarket which is very convenient. The management team is excellent, professional and friendly. Highly recommend especially if you have a dog.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
Geographically excellent location, within walking distance from the city centre but still allows you the quiet of not being completely central. Throwing distance from Spinningfeilds which has bars and restaurants that you can enjoy. Sainsbury’s local is a 2-minute walk which is very convenient for a quick shop.
The downside is the actual location can feel a little industrial due to the proximity of building works, but in time that will not be an issue. It is a shame the river walkway isn’t accessible.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Peel park is much closer than you think which is great if you have a dog as there aren’t a huge amount of places around for off-lead walks. There are lots of cute coffee and breakfast spots on the way to the park to you both get a treat.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Yes but response time can be a little slow, I appreciate this can be difficult with so many flats to manage.
Really like it
The NICEST lady on reception who is super helpful. The coworking spaces are good although the other areas get booked up pretty quickly. The gym is really nice and the car park opposite is handy. The lounge area is super good to work from home from but could use some longer tables

Pretty good, slightly noisy in the evenings with alarms though. Also quite loud bc of the amount of students but overall good.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
How loud the alarms are from the building sites opposite
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Haven’t had any issues yet thankfully so no need to report them
Excellent
The building is amazing and the design is outstanding. There is an area where you can grab tea or coffee and enjoy the calming view while replaying emails in the lobby area. There is a meeting room as well which I find very helpful since I work from home and sometimes I need to change for better performance.

The perfect home!
The Slate Yard is my dream aesthetic. Everything is modern and well maintained. I love that the apartments are pet friendly and the staff and management are amazing. I love having the gym on the premises. The bin area is always neat and clean which is great considering how many resident there are
