We absolutely love the design of the building, very luxurious at affordable price. You won’t find anywhere else in Manchester this luxury for the cost. The facilities are top class, the gym is one of the best I’ve used. The management and staff feel like friends already very friendly, Kata and Ellie have been amazingly welcoming and love our dog.

It’s the perfect location for the best bars and restaurants in Manchester, literally next door to the tram which can then take you anywhere.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Dogs should be allowed on the terrace upstairs. Apart from that nothing else is really.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had a problem with the electrical supply because of our new account, the management sorted the problem within 10 mins 👌🏼

I appreciate very much gym and pool what is excellent. Room was OK for me with size and equipment, but C1906 is situated on South West side with all windows and there could be a pretty hot during the sunny days and also with opened windows the noise level from outside is higher than I have expected ( but it is a centre of town I know…)

quality of the local shops are good, but a little bit expensive. On the other hand a lot of bar and restaurants is good enough for “night life”
I was without car but in case I would buy one there is a problem where to park and agin it is not so cheap….

Hot temperature in the rooms during sunny days and noise from outside with opened windows

In warmer weather periods we do advise the use of blinds to limit the sun exposure into apartments and with the floor to ceiling window vents, these hopefully allow for cool air flow into the apartment.

Deansgate Square is becoming a more and more popular location with residents of the city due to the location, we are sure this will continue as more business and development comes to the area, we have recently seen the arrival of new Japanese restaurant’ ‘Kitten’ to add to the growing collection of commercial units on site and more are on the way.

Parking will always be a challenge in city centre apartments unfortunately, with the demand and limited supply, we do currently have a 6 month plus waiting list but all residents are more than welcome to sign up.

Great place to live

I have lived in this building for 3+ years and I’d say the best thing about it is the facilities, they make living in this building worth the money. It’s also great that different stores/restaurants are opening up in the square! Having a flower shop, super-market and an italian and sushi restaurant on your doorstep isn’t so bad.

It’s a great location with only a short walk into the centre of town! There is a lot going on in the area so you will never be short of things to do.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not great, we had our electricity cut off after over a year of back and forth with the building managers and our energy suppliers. The account was in the buildings name so we could not change this to ours or pay the bill and we asked the building managers multiple times for this to be corrected as we had begun receiving debt collection letters but this was never done. Our electricity was then cut off so we made the building manager aware and they decided rather than fix the issue, to just go home and leave us with no solution and also insinuated that the issue was because ”we needed to start paying our bills on time” when actually the problem was that the building managers couldn’t care less about changing the account name from Urban Bubble to ours. In the end we had to go through the ombudsman to sort this ourselves and received a large part of our bill compensated due to the neglect from both urban bubble, the building managers and Scottish Power themselves.

Our facilities and amenities are a huge part of our residence and it is great to hear such positive feedback on these areas. Our location is becoming ever more popular within Manchester, as more and more businesses and residents stay in this part of the city. Our commercial units on site are set to grow, so watch out for new arrivals on Deansgate Square.

With regard to your feedback and issues experienced with the electricity, this was previously an ongoing issue with a very challenging provider from launch of the site. I am disappointed to hear of your experience and that it was not a positive one, we have since got a hold of this issue and installed the necessary steps within our operation to stop this from happening going forward. I am glad to hear the matter has now been resolved.

The good and the bad

There are both upsides and downsides of living in West Tower.
The upsides for me are:
– The apartment is a good size and furnished well
– People are genuinely friendly around the building and I have always felt safe
– Concierge and cleaning staff are super helpful and a credit to the site
The downsides for me are:
– Although the building is pet friendly you have to pay £50 per pet per month to keep them there. There is only one patch of grass on the site for dogs and they are not allowed on the roof terrace or in the suites which has meant I have not fully utilised them being here. Management can also moan if dogs pee outside but obviously this is a natural thing and is to be expected. It does feel sometimes they are happy to take the money for pets but don’t necessarily want them there.
– Having a gym and pool onsite is convenient but as more residents have moved in, they can get overcrowed at times
– The building design makes it a total wind tunnel. The windows also let in a lot of heat during the summer but drafts in the winter.
– Council tax is very high. I am in a 1 bed and it is a band D.
– Random one but when you get take out you have to go outside the building to collect it which can be super annoying

The location is super central – just off Deansgate. There are quite a lot of restaurants/cafes/bars starting to open on site which is super convenient. There can be a bit of outside noise but that is expected living in a city centre. Parking at the building is limited but there are plenty of parking options nearby.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just that commercial units would be opening – I am aware I live in central Manchester but I chose to live here so I was just out of the main city.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I live in a mezzaine level flat which I was never told would be above a commercial unit. Construction work started on the unit which was excessively loud drilling and hammering. We were not informed of management that this would be taking place and at the moment it has been ongoing for 6 weeks. After putting in multiple complaints it was agreed I could end my tenancy early.

We are pleased to see such positive feedback regarding our apartments and the team on site.

With regard to your comments on the downsides we have taken your point regarding pets and fed this back into the estates management team on site who are looking into this, the pet license fee goes towards the upkeep of the communal areas both internally and externally and the cleaning of external areas, this can be challenging with regards but is being increased and reviewed, especially as we approach the warm summer period.

The amenities are open through from 6am to 10pm to try and accommodate the demand, busy periods do generally occur between 7am – 9am and 5pm – 7pm.

As with the pet point, the wind tunnel comment has been noted and passed to the estates team who are currently reviewing this with their design team, regarding the installation of new wind breakers and also covered seating outside.

Unfortunately with regard to council tax this is determined by the local council and something we cannot change.

Regarding take out deliveries, as you can imagine we get a lot of these hourly everyday, we do not permit drivers into the building for the safety and security of our residents.

We have loved our first few months in West Tower! It already feels like home and there is such a community feel. The facilities are amazing after a long day working from home going down and relaxing in the pool. Our move in and any queries after was so easy with Kata & Ellie helping us!

West Tower provides ideally situated rental apartments with an effective management team in place. The position is close to all amenities and outside space.

The West Tower design is contemporary and efficient. The leisure and other support systems are well organised and accessible. There are good communication channels via apps to ensure tenants are kept informed. The building management via Kata Boros is efficient and she or a member of her team are always on hand to assist, which is very helpful when first moving in and unsure of the processes involved with a tenanted property. The reception staff, in particular Rosie, are always extremely pleasant and helpful, again which goes a long way to making you feel welcome and part of a community. There were a few minor issues that needed attention when we moved in which were swiftly attended to.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great access to local shops and bars. Convenient for all transport links, road, rail and therefore airport. Very close to the canal network and great for connecting with socially with people, running, walking, in the close outside space.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Do not allow your tenants to change your electricity supply arrangement to a pays as you go account, they are a nightmare to change back to a credit account.

Yes, we did have a few minor issues but they did attend to these when asked.

I know Rosie and Kata will be delighted to be singled out for a special mention and I a very happy to read that you are receiving assistance promptly when needed.

We love the location of Deansgate Square too and walks along the Castlefield Basin are a must in the summer! It will become an even more vibrant place in the next couple of months with more restaurants opening in the Square. We’ve also got quite a few resident events planned during the year, which we hope you’ll be able to attend.

We’ll do our best not to encourage residents to change to pay as you go meters. Part of our offering is that we do offer flexibility and limiting choice does go a little against this ethos. I do appreciate however that the utility providers are not quick at setting up accounts and that any delays can impact on new residents. We’ve actually got a new portal with our energy supplier launching in April which makes the changeover between residents (and the bit in between where the supply reverts back to the landlord) much easier and quicker, so hopefully this will ease the process for new and outgoing residents in the future.

It’s great feedback which we can use and thanks for taking the time to complete the review for us.

Deansgate Sq as a whole is super modern. The apartments are top spec. Bin chutes so easy to use on every floor. No need to worry for Xmas tree disposals at Christmas as concierge and FOH arrange for a swift removal. If there’s ever been an issue it’s been resolved immediately, ie washing machine fault – before the day is over someone has been to fix or replace. I wanted wall-paper on every wall – they supported me in doing this. I left for unexpected work and the team arranged to vacate my apartment, remove everything of mine, pack it up and return all back to how it was found (for a very reasonable price)

I am so close to everywhere here at Deansgate Sq. Tonnes of restaurants, shops on our doorstep, Deliveroo’s willing to bring me anything I want. Taxi’s, trains literally outside the apartment doors. Airports are so close. It’s very well situation for everything. The whole complex is amazing – the staff that work here from front of house, to the cleaning teams, the move-in teams, maintenance – nothing is too much trouble. The community feeling here between residents wins it for me – it’s such a friendly atmosphere. I was here 2 years, left for 5 months with work, then got another place here again.

How friendly the other residents would be – what a true sense of community the staff, the building, and the residents make it. And how many amazing dogs there are!

The building is absolutely flawless, I’ve likened it to living in a hotel! We have access to a Gym, Swimming Pool and Sauna area. There is a wonderful open plan lobby that you can grab a coffee or beer and watch the day go by. The apartment itself is fantastic, it’s spacious comfy and fitted with a number of modern amenities.

The management team from the beginning have been fantastic, welcoming and friendly, from my first contact with Kata who showed me around the apartment and guided me through the onboarding process to Ellie and Yasminia who helped with everything on moving day and after I’d moved in. Whenever I have a question I can send them a quick message and always get a super fast response!

West Tower sits at the quieter end of Manchester City Centre close to Castlefield which has a range of wonderful bars and is surrounded by nice walks through the canals.

At the base of the tower are a range of bars, coffee shop and convenience store and the local Sainsbury’s supermarket is a short walk away.

The views are absolutely stunning! Everything has been wonderful.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Upon moving in there were some issues with the flooring, the building management were proactive and had already put in place a plan to address them before I’d even picked up the keys!
