Affordable, Luxury, Pet-friendly Location: What more?

Review Date Aug 2020

Union Wharf itself is really something special and is greatly appreciated by its residents. My partner and I had spent significant time looking for a place that ticked a lot of our boxes. The development is brand new, the furniture is sleek and the facilities offer some of the best resident facilities I would argue in London. Typically in new developments they will try to squeeze as many flats into the space as possible, but here the flats feel spacious and very well done. The facilities are one of the most attractive parts of the building, you have a communal chill out area on the 22nd floor is where you can read, socialise and play pool. There is a private room to host your own private parties and functions at a reasonable rate and gym.THE VIEW, the view from the rooftop you honestly would have to pay quite a lot of money to get access to these views in London.

Most importantly to us was finding somewhere that was pet friendly and welcoming. Our pooch has made many friends in the building (as have we) and it’s makes it quite special that having pets are welcomed (especially in the fabulous location of Greenwich). The concierge are really hard working and great people and always very friendly. I think you can tell that the employees really enjoy working here and often stop for a chat during the day.

If anyone is considering or looking to live somewhere that is pet friendly, luxury (but affordable), amazing location and access to the city, I would really recommend taking a look. Moving here has really made us fall in love with Greenwich and I don’t think we will be planning on moving for a very long time!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area of Union Wharf speaks for itself. You are a stones throw from Greenwich with the buzzing restaurants, bars and independent shops. You have access to one of the best parks in London, Greenwich park a 10 minute walk away and direct access to London Bridge and the city in 10 minutes.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I didn’t actually realise how great of a commute it was into the city. I definitely recommend walking To Greenwich station and getting the train to London Bridge. My commute in total takes me 20 minutes which is crazy good!

What is the best feature of your home:

The View.. we can see Canary Wharf, a wide view of the Thames and all of the city of London. We even watched the fireworks from our apartment on new year.

Manager Response

Thank you for all the 5 *’s, and for sharing these great photos with us. It’s wonderful to have feedback about all elements of life at Union Wharf ?

A really wonderful place to live

Vantage Point is a beautiful building with excellent facilities. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into making sure that it is not only designed to look modern and welcoming, but also has a lot of very useful and practical elements.

Everything within the apartments themselves is high quality, from the kitchen with it’s fantastic use of utilising space to little touches here and there that make you realise how much thought has gone into the development.

The really great thing about Vantage Point is that there is so much to enjoy outside of your apartment too, with two beautiful community balconies, a library/office space, a lounge area, dinning room with fully fitted kitchen, gym and games room.

Location wise, you are practically on top of Archway tube station and there is an abundance of supermarkets, coffee shops and restaurants on your door step.

The residence team also make Vantage Point a great place to live. They are on reception 24/7 and are always there to greet you, take parcels and help with anything you need. They are a friendly bunch and having them there really helps you feel secure in the building.

Overall, I can’t fault this place!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great choice of supermarkets, coffee shops and restaurants. Pick a direction and you’ll no doubt find a little hidden gem. Practically on top of Archway tube station (Northern Line) and within walking distance to Upper Holloway (London Overground). Plenty of bus stops nearby too, as well as a number of Zip Cars if you need to rent a car.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Quite a few dogs here. I think it’s great, but if you have a serious dog problem, phobia or something it may bother you. However, they are not allowed in communal areas so you will only pass them in the lifts and at reception.

The staff really make this Vantage Point a home.

We’ve enjoyed our time living in Vantage Point. We feel the design of the building internally is beautiful, including the amenity spaces, however at times appliances and finishes are somewhat faulty and some corners have been cut.

The facilities in the Vantage Point are a huge selling point which adds to the value of the building exponentially. The car park is a nice addition, however the upkeep of the car park is not satisfactory, often times littered and/or flooded.

Onto the real star of the show…the staff. They are beyond helpful, attentive, kind and generally just good people. They make living at Vantage Point feel like home. The staff here have become more than just building staff and have become a part of our home, and to us that means job well done. We could not appreciate their attentiveness more. Any issue that arises, they immediately work to solve it and they do so happily. They make our life easier and we’re forever grateful for that. The review would be a 5 star if asked only about the staff.

Couldn’t recommend it enough!

The development is incredible! The building itself is fantastic. Great amenities that never fail to blow guests away when you have them over (dining room, barbecue, living room, activity room, gym, library, etc). An insane view of London, possibly one of the best there is of the whole city. Incredible sound proofing. My next door neighbours have a newborn baby, who I have never heard!

Every single member of the management team is lovely. They’ve been nothing but accommodating and cooperative since I first moved in. They’re super on top of maintenance too. If I ever have an issue someone is usually round and has it fixed within a day or two. Having a 24 hour concierge means you never have to worry about packages not being delivered.

The events they run every few months are really sweet too. Just a nice excuse to meet up with neighbours who you invariably become good friends with. The development seems to attract a really nice type of resident, mixed backgrounds and points in life but all polite, kind and interesting.

There’s a sense of community which, whilst not forced on to you, is there for you to be a part of if that’s your thing. Pretty rare for London! Overall I honestly couldn’t recommend it more highly and feel pretty lucky to be here myself!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I’m not the best person to ask about restaurants and bars because frankly, I don’t get out that much! That said, the few restaurants nearby I’ve made the time to go to have been really good so I’m sure those with more discerning tastes and the time to explore would find some excellent choices. What I can confirm is that living directly on top of the tube station is amazing! Both for ease of travel and for inviting guests over. I never worry about them getting lost or having to worry about walking somewhere if it’s after dark. T

here’s an excellent selection of supermarkets and shops nearby, so you can easily get everything you need day to day. We’re 15-20 minutes away from Hampstead Heath so you easy access to pretty much the best green space in London. There are several other smaller parks close by too. The building has access to private parking in the basement which is a game changer in London for anyone who hasn’t had that before. Only negative I can think of is it can be a little noisy outside at times but that’s just as likely to be the case most other places you live in London too.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I really do my due diligence before making decisions so there wasn’t really much I didn’t know before moving in. That’s also a testament to how helpful the team were when it came to answering my questions and letting me view everything in depth before making the move. To be honest, the only thing I can think to say is that you don’t know how useful and smooth living in a managed building is going to be if you haven’t lived somewhere like this before. Typical letting agent/landlord issues just aren’t a thing.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I know there’s been an occasional thing that’s broken or not worked properly at one point or another but it’s hard for me to even remember what they were as they get fixed so fast. The team are always quick to respond and incredibly helpful with any request I have.

The bestest

Vantage Point has been the perfect place for us for the last 1.5 years. My favourite bits are that everything works, which seems like a miracle in London’s often pretty rundown rental market. And, on the off-chance anything does stop working, the team downstairs are on it immediately. The bed, its comfy. NO NOISE from other apartments, yes! The bathroom is perfect. As in, shower is strong, always hot. Toilet is comfy. Bath is lush. Loads of storage. The upstairs communal areas are so good, although we didn’t get to use them much because dogs aren’t allowed up there (one of my not-so favourites). Never have to worry about a package again…nice. Internet is super. The PEOPLE are the best though. We have become so close with the Res team. Love coming home to chats about politics and dogs with them.

I haven’t loved how hot it is in summer and the fact that the drunks outside keep you awake because you have to have your windows open. The fridge in our apartment is small. I had to change the way I shopped and cooked small. Then there is the price. Yikessss. It is a lot, but you do get a lot for it.

In conclusion, way more loves then not-so-loves.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

At first, Archway seems like a through-route neighbourhood with not much going on. It isn’t hip or fancy and it doesn’t get written about on Timeout, but that is the beauty of it. It is a down-to-earth place where a diverse variety of people are living. That’s it. We have a dog so we have walked every single one of the streets around here and have come to feel very fond of this place. It is noisy, although less so because of COVID and it can be polluted, but there are little and big parks all around. With Waterlow, the Heath and Highgate woods all a walk away. There are tons of supermarkets to chose from, minimarts galore and the Northern line right underneath you. We have made many friends in Archway and will miss this place!

What is the best feature of your home:

The resident’s team is the best. The resident’s team is the best.
