Where is Oxfordshire?

Oxfordshire is a county in England. It has an area of 1,611 square miles and a population of 657,600 people. Oxfordshire is one of the wealthiest areas in Britain with it being ranked as the fourth wealthiest region outside London.

The county borders Warwickshire to the west, Buckinghamshire to the north-west, Berkshire to the north-east, Wiltshire to its south-east corner and Gloucestershire across much of its southern border.

Witney – located around 12 miles (19 km) west of Oxford – is the largest town in Oxfordshire with a population of 28,000. Witney offers an excellent range of high street shops, supermarkets and restaurants as well as popular pubs and leisure facilities.

Banbury – Banbury is a historic market town located on the River Cherwell which flows through West Oxfordshire before meandering towards Warwickshire to join up with The Thames near Cricklade. There’s plenty for visitors here including the impressive 14th century St Mary’s Church, made from white limestone quarried locally at Kirtlington.

Oxford Brookes – Oxford Brookes is situated about eight miles south of Oxford, between the River Thames and the A40. It has over 16,000 students enrolled studying across three campuses in Oxfordshire and specialises in art, design and media.

The Oxford School of Drama – is part of the University of Oxford and is a world-class drama school that trains actors for stage, film and television. It also runs two theatre companies: the Young Players (for children) and OUDS (the University Dramatic Society).

There is a bus every 30min that can take you to the nearby shops, there are play areas and outdoor gyms.

This is an Eco friendly development. The residents make a friendly community, helping each other all the time. There is plenty of green space, bins, play areas and outdoor gyms. There is a weekly pop up cafe, a baby group, a sewing group, yoga and pop up pubs.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The heating and hot water is paid separately and we were not informed about the standing charges when buying the house.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Unfortunately this could be improved with better time frame for improvements

In Oxford nice country public transport bad bin collection has been frequent however there is a bit of a local fly issue.

The building is well managed there is ample parking and the grounds are nice in storage and bike storage are good, the halls are not air tight however by design and so insect life often finds a way in. There is an issue with some things such as lights not being fixed but it is done eventually

There is WiFi through hyperopic it comes with a box and is cheaper and faster than most others.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes heating was fixed mid winter to great relief good turn around.

Great concept for modern living

Newman Place is a greatly thought development, execution however is poor. I hope all promises given to the residents will be met by Peabody. Hill are dragging mud all over the main road, we have no designated parking spaces and the buildings are behind which means current residents have to live on an active building site when this should not be the case.

Please review your development:

Newman is a great concept. Once its finished I think it has great potential to be a great living area. The development is big, however very spacious. Looks like there will be a lot of greenery around. Bike storage and electric cars spaces are a great addition

How slow After Care is and how awful Hill are making a dog’s breakfast of the area already in use by residents

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not to the level expected, very slow, being bounced between far too many people and generally not a company that is willing to listen, certainly not a transparent one either.

Enjoy living in Elmsbrook

Quite convenient, 6 mins to High Street, 10 mins to Tesco Superstore. Have parking space for guest which is quite good. low density. Very quiet community.

Please review your development:

Good to live in a low density community. roads are wide. enough space for dog walking. The team on site is helpful and nice, keen to follow up the snags. Solar panel and the rain water system help a lot on sustainability. The quality of the material is better than other developers, which is quite impressed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

would be better to have more slabs for walking or garden furniture.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are definitely delivering good service and keen to follow up the questions or snags we found. No major snags so far, just some decoration stuffs like the paint, scratch on glass.
