Nice estate but requires more property maintenance

Very convenient for the A189 and commuting to work. Close enough to the town centre and very close to hospital. Traffic noise can be an issue from local youths on bikes. And grass not maintained at front of houses on main road by a different developer.

Please review your development:

The design of the estate is good, there are a variety of house designs and a good community feel. Facilities are lacking as no bins or grass and not yet finished the paths throughout the estate. Weeds are a problem with some neighbours not maintaining their property which doesn’t give good curb appeal. As well as a neighbouring housing developer not taking ownership and maintaining the land they own giving some houses an unpleasant outlook.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the strip of land in front of my house was owned by persimmon and that houses would be built on the field adjacent to my drive.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes they did however it took some time for some responses.

Really enjoy my home, its layout is ideal for my current needs

Review Date Aug 2022

Really enjoy living in Blyth, to have access to stunning coastline, city life, good transport links such as the airport, and mainline rail close by it is a really convenient place to live. My neighbours on the cul de sac have been really good and we all get, there is very little noise from traffic, and council services such as bin collections are always done.

Please review your development:

Really enjoy my home, its layout is ideal for my current needs, have been extremely fortunate to have a plot that came with a really big garden. We had some issues with the property that took a fair amount of time to be resolved but they did eventually get resolved. Facilities next to estate are great with 2 big chain supermarkets and petrol station all within a stones throw of my front door. So overall i have been happy with my property.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

So i bought my property of plan so wasnt able to see it before i decided to purchase it. so maybe it would be good to have a show home for each type of property.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

It was logged through the portal, and was acknowledged fairly quickly but it did take a long time to get rectified.

Terrible

Review Date Apr 2022

Unknown.

Please review your development:

Would never purchase a home through Miller’s again, very incompetent. Our home was due to be ready for March this year, they have only just started to build the house and have fobbed us off with a million excuses. They have not been communicating with us and they do not care that this has cost us more in rent. Extremely disappointed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we would have known that the house would not be ready anywhere near the time it was supposed to be. I wish we knew how poor the communication would be after the contracts were signed and I wish we went with another housing company as have heard better things about others.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No concern whatsoever. Replies are delayed and we are fobbed off with various excuses with no actual resolution to our issues.

We love our house (the sherwood) and couldn’t have picked a better home for what we need.

it’s a lovely location right in between 2 towns with plenty open fields around to go walking which I love, the actually development area itself is lovely too. The con with being in this spot is where the nearest shop is which is a short drive but not a key issue.

Please review your development:

We love our house (the sherwood) and couldn’t have picked a better home for what we need. The actual design of the house is lovely and we have a great garden there so no complaints at all on the design. With regards to building and property management, we had a few small snags around the house but nothing major which the builders on site fixed for us and we’re great.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When doing your snagging list, mention and note down every single thing regardless of how small it is to get sorted out. Also keep on top of the builders who are sorting the snagging as they are dealing with a lot of homes so can forget but it’s your home so you need to get it sorted

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The builder himself was great and sorted things out when we needed it so no complaints.
