We feel the design of our davidsons home really stands out from other major developers and sets it apart from the standard new build home. The communal spaces are well thought out with a courtyard area for parking and wide roads. Although we had very little problems with our house, the management company were very helpful and quick to sort any snags.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We absolutely love living in our Davidsons home at New Lubbesthorpe. The development has been completed to a very high standard and we are impressed with both the building quality and the design of our house and estate. The layout has been well thought out with wide roads, communal parking spaces and nearby parks and open areas. Unfortunately we do find on street parking an issue which can be frustrating when navigating the roads around our house, driveways could have been better thought out for some of the houses on our estate to prevent this issue. We have no complaints with traffic noise or anti social behaviour.

The estate is well situated with many amenities nearby, including a primary school, ALDI and retail park, however could benefit from a small local shop. The main road created for the estate can be troublesome with large speed bumps which have caused a few issues to our cars, we are hoping these will be reduced in size once all building is complete.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Although we love the size of our windows and the large patio ‘pod’ – due to the size of the windows, we have needed to purchase custom made blinds and curtains which came at quite a large expense. Other than this, we felt we were able to gather all the information we needed from viewings and advice from the sales team.

What is the best feature of your home:

The floor plan layout is spacious and unique. A great deal of thought has been put in to the visuals of our home and we love the layout, windows and large pod area.

5* home by Davidson’s

The development is designed brilliantly, the houses are spaced out and not crammed in like some new build sites. Each house has a sufficient driveway and a decent garden
The site managers have been so helpful and always on hand if you ever needed them for anything
The site also has plenty of greenery – balancing ponds and surrounding by fields and national forest
Davidson’s have taken the time to plant new trees around the edge of the estate

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is brilliant in a lovely rural village with loads of off road walking, great for dog owners! As a first time buyer I feel very lucky to live in a village
The village is close to local towns and shops so not out of the way but get the bonus of living in a village

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Mostly a positive experience. We purchased the house further down the build stage so we didn’t get to choose the spec of the house (kitchen, carpets etc) so we’d like to try and do that next time

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They always responded to any issues we had and did always get fixed but there will be some issues (garden) that they refuse to fix as it is under their specification. They did always fix any issues inside the house in a timely manner though

Fantastic area and development

My Partner and I moved to Ashby having never properly been here before. We fell in love with the location and the development immediately and our plot overlooks a farm with roaming horses.
There have been snags like you expect there to be but the management team got everything sorted within 4months of moving in. Really impressed with the level of work and speed of fixing snags.
The house design are all high spec and have a nicer outside look to typical new builds.

Highly recommend the builder.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Ashby is somewhere we had never properly experienced before moving. Its a lovely small market town with some great tourist attractions like the castle and some fantastic pubs.
The people in the area all seem extremely friendly.
On a nice day you may even horses on the high street and alpaca petting.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had knew about the horses and ponies before hand and its a great perk.
Would have been nice to know when the road would he finished as it took a while

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Extremely quick and really effective and resolved every snag in 4 months

Great overall but finish quality could be better.

We love the house and have a good size garden, the road is quet and we have ample parking. We have had a significant number of snags and haveing been here 9 months are still waiting to get some things resolved. The site management are helpful and responsive but getting contractors back is challenging, time consuming and disruptive. Davidsons could do with improving their Quality control of the houses prior to releasing them for occupancy.
Great house, good design, some good products in the house but the final execution and quality is just not quite there.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The village is fairly quiet, but is missing a decent local shop (there is a SPAR but it is poor for choice, small and expensive). There is plenty of space to walk if you are a dog lover. The street we are on is quiet but Long Street Road (50m away) is fairly busy though not too noisy. Bin collection form Milton Keynes COuncil is abysmal, and needs updating urgently, we had far superior servcie from SouthNorthamptonshire council.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

For most things you have to head into Wolverton, food, groceries etc, the local shop just is not up to scratch in this day and age. The estate is lovely, quiet and a great place to live.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

On site fairly well and the on site manager has been helpful, but the main office are often slow to repond and things just take too long to get sorted.

Lovely place to live

Lots of open green space to walk dogs around, lovely play park for kids which attracts people from all over the local area. A great community feel with lots going on especially around festive periods. Plenty to get involved in if you wish to.
Some downsides are that there’s still lots of development to be done to things such as pavements, fences and roads. Bins are often full and basic things seem to get over looked.
All in all, Houlton is a really lovely place to live and will continue to be as it grows.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great community spirit, someone will always be there to help out, local Co-Op and lots of open green space. Currently lacks a pub which is definitely very sort after in the community.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Would be good to know timescales for when things are being built.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes- Dealt with a snagging list in a timely scale.
