Insight to living on Persimmons Bishops Mead sight

There are no local shops restaurants or bars within a mile and a half, there is Lydney park about half a mile away where there is a lake and swings etc for the children. there is also a small area for the children on the onsite development. The parking is limited to the spaces in front of your own house. The street is fairly quite , the only problem we have is with loads of stray cats . They collect the black bins every 2 weeks and recycling bins every other week.

Please review your development:

Not a lot of thought has gone into the design of the development as lots of properties have sloping drives where it would have been nice to see them on a level. The gardens are left terrible. my own property was 2ft 6″ higher at the back sloping down to the house with no proper drainage. I have since levelled it myself and put land drains in at quite a cost to myself. This sort of thing should be part of the actual building of the plot. The building management is not very good unless you keep on to the site agent to get things sorted when a problem arrives with your house. Customer care is very good at getting things put right if no joy with the site agent. There are no local facilities at all only a small playground for the children. The landscapers are not keeping the grass management up to date at all, some of the grass is now just a pile of weeds that make the estate look unsightly.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The gardens that you think would be nice and level are quite the opposite on the majority of the houses. The best tip I would say is to get a snagging company in, they find all the underlying faults that the ordinary person would not find some quite serious.

What is the best feature of your home:

Patio doors to garden make easy access for large objects to be brought into house and let you have a nice view of your garden.

The local area is fantastic however could benefit from a shop that is walking distance. Living on the street is great could benefit from more parking for visitors.

Please review your development:

Quality of build isnt great, have had alot repaired and is still ongoing after 18months. It is a very long waiting list to be seen. I have a lot of mould and it was a struggle to get it sorted even with a young baby which was disappointing. Staff on site are very friendly and helpful.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The build quality, garage is not got electricity..

What is the best feature of your home:
