Areas to consider in Edinburgh

Edinburgh has many different areas that are worth considering when choosing where to live, including:

The City Centre – always a good option because there are plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from as well as easy access to public transport links.

Leith – has properties with a lot of character, excellent travel links to the rest of Edinburgh and is an up-and-coming area to look out for. Leith is also famous for its fantastic marina and being a hub for Edinburgh’s nightlife.

Prestonfield –  boasts stunning views over Edinburgh Castle across open countryside and is home to the oldest house in Edinburgh, Prestonfield House. This area is becoming increasingly popular for families and professionals alike due to its proximity to the city centre. It is also home to a number of good schools, making it an attractive area if you are looking at property with children in mind or have young family members.

Grange – has a village-like feel and some of the best local amenities within easy reach; it’s more affordable than other areas but still offers excellent access to public transport links and short commutes into the town centre. The Grange is a good option for those looking to settle down in Edinburgh, as the area has excellent local amenities and transport links are also convenient. It can be found north of The City Centre on the other side of Holyrood Park.

Morningside – provides excellent commuter links into the city centre but also benefits from being just minutes away from Bruntsfield Links golf course which hosts international tournaments every year. The area has beautiful Victorian properties which are typically family homes due to their size and there are also excellent local schools in the vicinity should you be looking for somewhere to raise a family.

Transport links in Edinburgh

As you might expect from Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh has excellent transport links. The city’s airport is the main regional hub for Lothian and Edinburgh. You can also find a few international flights from here each day too, so if you’re looking to travel abroad, this could well be your best option.

Then there are the railways which run throughout Scotland in general but have been significantly improved by both Network Rail and ScotRail over recent years – plus it has never been easier or cheaper to get cheap train tickets when planning ahead online with our website!

The cheapest way around Edinburgh might just be on foot where you’ll no doubt stumble upon some hidden gems along the way that will add up together to make one great experience of living in this lovely capital city.

Edinburgh Castle

What is there to do in Edinburgh?

Much like any capital city, Edinburgh has a lot to offer its residents and visitors alike. The major attractions like Edinburgh Castle, National Museum of Scotland or the Royal Yacht Britannia might be great places to visit but you could also consider checking out some local galleries such as the Scottish Portrait Gallery or pop into one of the many museums dotted throughout the city for an educational experience that is sure to satisfy your inner history buff!

If you love art and literature then make sure not to miss visiting the Writers’ Museum which will give you an insight into how writers work while taking in their surroundings at home.

If nature is more your thing then there’s no shortage of parks in Edinburgh, or if you are feeling even more adventurous,  you can go for a trip out of town and explore some of the many forests that dot the wild and ancient Scottish countryside.

Best place to live in the city

Review Date Apr 2024

Lovely neighbourhood, surrounded by everything I need, convenient transportation to anywhere of the city even without an car.

Please review your development:

I have moved in for about 3months, and I really have to say that I quite love this place. I have been suffered from moving homes. Previously I think the price of moda is so expensive, but only after I moved in, I realised it is definitely worth the price!!! The top class equipment, lovely decoration, 5 star service from the reception, expecially lloyads! He is my bro, he is always there helping me solve anything I encountered with!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish l know people like lloyds at the reception team, my life will be definitely great!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I have encountered 2 problems after I moved in, both times they have solved my problems quickly.

The design is super comfortable and I super like the public area( I mean the top floor). Everyday I go to the balcony to see the sunset and it is very enjoyable. And the management very good, there is a 24 reception service and the all people are friendly and helpful here. Here has a safety and enclosed lawn which is very useful to walk the dog.

Perfect place to call home long or short term

Review Date Apr 2024

We have already enjoyed our short stay at Moda and regrettably have to leave for reasons not associated with this fantastic place. We enjoy the communal aspects and especially the co-working space which is calm and has everything you need to get through the working day.

Please review your development:

We love the modern but timeless touches that consider the user, no objects with no purpose! the gym is fantastic, small but not too small. i really enjoy the way the car park connects you to each building, on cold wet days i don’t have to go outside (more often than not)

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We would require a lot more items such as cutlery (which might seem obvious)

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

yes, so far any questions have been answered, courtney has been really helpful.
