Beautiful natural area with countryside all around.

The original design of the development has won awards but on walking around you have more questions on that one than answers. For example why have they got the hedging going through the middle of many gardens instead of around the boundary?
As the months go by and with the more the houses go up you do get the niggling thought of will the area end up over populated? Saying that it is beautiful with woods to our south, east and west and a beach only about 6 miles away.
With all new builds the size of rooms can be a little on the smaller side and there are always teething problems and Countesswells is no different. There are issues trying to get some of the snagging done, this can often be easier said than done. I have opted to just pay for the ones that I cannot live with and fingers crossed and hope Stewart Milne gets round to the others eventually but it has been 4 1/2 years now so I won’t hold my breath.
The general area is kept tidy with the local authority refuse collectors doing a sterling job, if only the same could be said of the factoring company who may have bitten off more than they can chew with even the simplest of requests being an issue.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Living in Countesswells has been a joy on the whole, we now have a Sainsbury’s local shop but as of January 2022 it is the only one open. There has been the promise of a new chemist opening for quite a long time now but that has now been thrown into doubt with the news that Countesswells Development Limited have gone bust.
We are told the houses that have been started will be completed so fingers crossed as we are living in a building site at the moment. The primary school although it is 3 or 4 years behind the original schedule is still being constructed and will hopefully be open to take pupils in 2023.
Pity there are no plans for a local pub, restaurant or even a coffee shop but there is a bus that runs Monday to Saturday from early morning up to around 6pm that can take you into town in around half an hour. Again we have been asking for it to run later or even a limited service on a Sunday but so far this has fallen on deaf ears.
The area is very quiet with very little anti social behaviour only suffering from the odd feral child up to mischief!!! As for parking it’s not the best with limited spaces around the development which is surprising considering we are as far out of the city centre as we could possibly get.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The community spirit has got to be one of the biggest positives, it is a very safe area to live in and you wont be disappointed with the general and overall feel.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature has to be the houses surroundings, they local area is just spectacular.

Very friendly approachable staff

Moving from a bigger home to Carron Den Road had to be right as we had to adjust to a smaller home (even although same amount of bedrooms) I love the lay out, the entry to our home has an open spacious hallway which has the stairs in the center. The kitchen in an ideal world could have been bigger but you need to compromise somewhere. the upstairs obviously feels more roomier due to the garage taking up room downstairs.
Property management and building management has been great right from viewing the house, to moving in and the after service. The teething problems we have had, have been dealt with immediately. Very friendly approachable staff, not just the site manager, service manager but the sales team, the tradesmen, very professional and welcoming by everyone. The site grounds are kept clean, tidy and gardeners out after the storm tidying everything up. i also believe there is going to be a new walk way down to the town.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Moving from a rural area after 14 years, we love it here at Dunnottar Park. From having no amenities to now having everything on our door step is fantastic. We have a choice of restaurants, take aways, deliveries, butcher, chemists, good doctors practice and schools. We are in a very quite street and even though close to the dual carriage you wouldn’t know it. Bin collection and post delivery very good. We have the added choice of trains and bus service. Changed our lives moving here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

It would of been good to be told to remember and order your bins before you move in as we never thought of that as we have never bought a new build before. Apart from that nothing.

What is the best feature of your home:

This is a difficult one as I like a lot of things about my home. I think the view from the top two front bedrooms is good, as coming from a rural area I have still managed to see the hills because of the positioning of the houses across from me, it’s there drive way in front of me so I can still see hills. Also the patio doors going out to the garden from the living room. I like we have two en-suites and a separate bathroom and another separate toilet.

DUNNOTTAR PARK STONEHAVEN IS THE PLACE TO LIVE

The design of the development is very unique and very interesting and provides for a warm and friendly atmosphere to both residents and visitors.
The external design of the new homes is also very unique and offers great character, and once you enter inside you can’t help but feel the wow factor with many design features and a high specification again being excellent value for money.
Whilst the external landscape is still in its infancy, it is easy to see how this will quickly mature and is being very well maintained at the moment.
People within the town of Stonehaven, and beyond, very much recognise that Dunnottar
Park is the most desirable place to live within Stonehaven.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Stonehaven is a lovely town with excellent amenities and connectivity to all modes of transport.
There are lovely areas of green open space providing excellent footpath links to nearby amenity areas and the town itself.
The street is quiet but very friendly with no issues of car parking or unruly behaviour and weekly refuse collection; it is the perfect place to live and is excellent value for money.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known of this development sooner as the homes appear to be selling very quickly.

What is the best feature of your home:

The external appearance, and the fully considered internal design makes it the ideal family home.
