The perfect mixture of city and countryside

Overall we are happy with development and like that the houses vary in design and are not set out in straight lines, which makes it feel more organic.

However, we have lived here for nearly two years and the road has still not been laid and the park that we were promised does not exist.

There are also certain aspects that are not very convenient. For example, the footpath does not flow around the whole development – it stops on one side and starts on the other, so you have to keep crossing to avoid walking on the road.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Being only a seven minute walk from Newington station, the transport links are very good. However, the local high street offers very little and what is there is of poor quality.

We have ample parking and the bin collection is always on time. There’s been no anti-social behaviour that we’ve been aware of.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Make sure your garden and floor is complete before you move in.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The ugly fuse box right by the front door. Why couldn’t this go under the stairs?

Ballymore is horrible

I am share ownership in this development.
We don’t have any service, no concierge, no Allowed to go to amenities. We treat us a second class citizens.
They management is terrible.
We pay a expensive service charge and we don’t received any service.
The quality of the properties is horrible. Everything is cheap done

Amazing from the developers. Let down by the council

Very happy with Persimmon so far, they have been very quick and easy to fix any snags. The builders on the site have gone beyond what they would need to do to help residents out.

Unfortunately from talking with the developers it is the local council who have not allowed this development to live up to its full potential, allowing the residents to really get their money’s worth. In some ways the council have put the aesthetics of the development way above security and safety for those living here.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Small village with lots of green areas and local shop.
Mostly quiet but sometimes spoilt by the bellowing of the residents of the council properties.

No street lights in the development which is not ideal. The development could have been made better if the council allowed garages and changed the location of the pavements.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The development is close to the train line and a small crossing further up, the train has to sound its horn for the crossing.

What is the best feature of your home:

The amount of space that is used and the functionality

Well done Persimmon.

The development I am on was built lovely and comes with 2 parking slots per house. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I could charge my electric car by my front door! I have never seen that before.
It is such a shame that a little convience store wasn’t built on this development as this would have come in handy for us all as our nearest shop is about a 10 min walk away.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Newington unfortunately needs updating. We need more shops and more things to do in the area, not only for the growing amount of children in this area but for adults too. It’s handy to have the train station on our doorstep but only running once and hour isn’t sufficient enough. Living on a social housing slot, I don’t have the best bunch of neighbours and often feel very isolated.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Visit the development at different times. It can either be very peaceful or it can be over run by kids kicking balls and riding their scooters making a lot of noise.
