Site staff are really helpful

Development is well designed with the exception of the house numbering which is confusing for delivery drivers etc

Site staff are really helpful and tradespeople are respectful, don’t tend to have any issues with access despite being on the build route

Provision of the green space at the back of the estate is a massive bonus especially for walking the dog

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Close to supermarkets and retail, close to the train station, nice coffee shop and corner shop, quite quiet

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

To order your bins and internet earlier than we did, also to ask your developer for a skip when you move in for flat pack boxes etc

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Slowly initially, we get prompt responses from David in customer care and the engineers have been lovely who have done work in the house, the issues that haven’t been resolved are mainly sub contractor responsibilities I.e. works to the roof

Thumbs up for Stanley Gardens

We love the design of our house, plenty of space and a great size garden for a new build. We did have snags when we first moved in but they were soon resolved.
We have an arched window with a heightened ceiling and it creates great curb-side appeal but also the room itself is stunning.
The house was completed around the time estimated by Morris homes and we were kept updated along the way. The staff could not be more helpful.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Ideal location, being within 5 minute walk to two local train stations and between Bromborough village with good bars and restaurants. We are also within walking distance from Bromborough retail park, which includes a cinema, food outlets and great shops. The housing estate is very quiet, as it is set back from the main roads and we have had many comments from visitors at the peacefulness of the location.
Parking is limited as the roads are small and the houses close together.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, we had a number of snags and they were completed shortly after we moved in. We also had a few design changes we put forward and Morris homes were more than happy to complete for us.

Design – design is not great. They could have used available space effectively for example there is flat roof Infront of our house , they could have atleast given us balcony. Design is kind of hypnotising . Home appears big and it’s very small inside. Not happy at all

Curing is not done properly. Lot of breaks in the house.

We bought this house mainly for decent living room but they decieved us by giving small living room.
On papers it is different but actual it’s different.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Expected small community garden but there is no such facilities. Otherwise area is good.

But there is no facilities provided by development even though they are charging us 110/p.a

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would have known the overall square feet of the house. From outside it appears good but inside house is very small.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They are responding good. Some times it’s very difficult to catch hold of them

Very pleased with our Morris Home

Lovely development, my husband is a layout designer and at the time we bought worked for a major house builder and competitor of Morris Homes. We wouldn’t have bought if the site layout was poor. The house is beautifully designed, our only grumble is that there is no boundary marker (fence, hedge etc) between us and our neighbour, at the front of the house, and we will have to ask for permission to erect one. Can’t really comment on the facilities, building and property management yet as the development is still being built so the management company haven’t taken over management of the site and facilities such as play areas haven’t been built yet.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Close to Preston City Centre but doesn’t feel like you’re living on the outskirts of a city. Lovely local walk on the doorstep into Avenham Park and more rural walks within an east drive. Preston has a major train station and the choice of bars and restaurants is good. Within walking distance there is less choice, with only one local pub/restaurant within easy walking distance (15 minutes or so) though Penwortham town centre is only a short drive away. It would be good if they could do more at the Capitol Centre as there aren’t any restaurants there anymore, which is a shame. No issues with parking, anti social behaviour, traffic noise or bin collections so far.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There isn’t a light in the extremely large downstairs cupboard (Cranleigh house type), if we’d have realised we’d have paid to have one put in. Think about the plug socket positions and how you think you’ll use the space – we have no plug socket next to the bed in the second room because it’s designed to be a double bedroom but we use it as our toddlers bedroom, so where the bed is positioned doesn’t work with the switches. Likewise is bed 3, we use it as an office, there’s a perfect desk sized alcove and we paid to put a BT socket in the alcove for internet usage but didn’t clock the plugs were at the opposite side of the room.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We don’t have any dealings with building management as we don’t live in an apartment. However, the site manager has responded quickly and positively to any issues we have raised.
