“The Greenwich neighborhood offers lots of open green spaces, proximity to the River Thames, and famous attractions like the Greenwich Observatory, so it’s a popular place to live. It’s also got excellent transport links, and residents of The Horizon have Greenwich, Lewisham and Elverson Road stations at their disposal. Pretty good

Not the prettiest tower on the outside, not the most inspired design but a nice, comfortable development with great views and amenities overall.
The flats are relatively spacious with a good layout to maximise the available space. Most flats have great dock or river views. Building management and concierge are very friendly and welcoming.
The facilities are nice, although the gym is fairly small and doesn’t have any free weights: no dumbbells, no kettlebells, which is quite strange… Pool, steam and sauna are great (although a little bit awkward to get to as you need to go through the parking garage, strange design decision…). The flats do tend to get quite warm in the summer, the comfort cooling doesn’t seem to be very powerful or effective. The other downside is that the DLR nearby is quite noisy, even on higher floors you can still hear it. But overall a very nice and pleasant building to live in.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Nice and relatively quiet area, a good 10 minutes walk to Canary Wharf tube station or Crossrail, next to inner Millwall dock and South dock, with some small supermarkets nearby. The DLR station is 2 minutes walk from the building.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The noise from the DLR is louder than I had expected.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No issues so far, they seem very friendly and helpful.

Great location and good value for money

Very modern design. Communal space is great for socialising. Parcel storage is super useful for when you are out at work and not available to collect parcels.
Building manager/ concierge has always been helpful and chatty. Sometimes slow to respond to emails.
We recently found out our building had cladding that does not meet fire safety standards so we now have fire wardens on site 24/7. This is a bit concerning but they seem to be managing it well. I’m not convinced we would know exactly what to do in the case of a fire though.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

5 minute walk to a big Tesco supermarket and only a 5 minute walk to Elverson Road DLR.
10 minute walk to Greenwich town centre and also Lewisham. Just up the hill is Blackheath Common which is great for running.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known how long the building works would be going on for near our development.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We haven’t raised many issues during our time here. Our water stopped for a short period and our building manager was very quick to respond to my email.

Easily the best new residential development in Media City & The Quays

I’ve lived in various new developments and property types in different locations – Duet is by far my favourite hands down. The design layout flows, it’s easy to live here, the facilities are excellent & staff outstanding, it’s a pleasure to live here. The focus on the social aspect and experience is a great addition to living here – the building itself absolutely immaculate and the management team couldn’t be more accommodating and approachable. There are so many positives, from the high end gym equipment, outdoor garden, fingerprint parcel lockers, and organised social events – that I honestly couldn’t think of a more ideal development to live in. After visiting every residential development in Media City and The Quays, Duet is easily a step above the others. I couldn’t recommend Duet any higher!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I moved to the Quays and Media City specifically for the local amenities, ease of transport and abundance of restaurants and bars in the most ‘up-and-coming’ development in Manchester – a water sports centre, gym, shopping complex, supermarkets, every thing you would need all within walking distance!

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The viewing was absolutely comprehensive and I was shown all the amenities of the building and it’s functions. I would recommend to anyone who considering living at Duet to also check out the discounts they also offer at the local retailers and eateries as they were an added bonus to find out about too!

What is the best feature of your home:

My actual apartment has superb views not only of Salford Quays and Eerie Basin, but also across the city and beyond. The finishings are high end and from the marble tables and worktop to the couch and rugs, everything is of excellent quality

Comfortable apartments in an excellent location

Duet is a stylish and comfortable building with an eye catching lobby complete with areas for home working, holding meetings, or just simply sitting and enjoying a fabulous coffee from a machine offering an array of caffeinated and hot chocolaty delights.

We opted for a furnished apartment. It makes me very happy when I get home from work and see our large green L shaped velvet sofa and know I can flop on to it and relax in both syle and comfort.

The kitchen has everything you’ll need; washer/dryer, oven, hob, fridge/freezer and lots of work top and cupboard space. There is plenty of space for storage under the luxurious king size bed.

There’s a gym downstairs with all the basics you’d want from that kind of space – weights, treadmills, exercise bikes etc. Speaking of bikes, there is loads of bike storage in the car park. Cycles are safe and dry there.

Our favorite communal part of the building though is the terrace on the mezzanine level. It looks out over Erie Basin and on a hot day it’s the perfect spot to sit and read a book. Sublime.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

One of the main attractions of Duet for us was its location. It’s close to Media City UK, right by Erie Quay, and it has excellent transport links as the Harbor City tram stop is right outside the front door.

From that tram stop it’s easy to get to Manchester Piccadilly station, the airport and even Eccles – from Duet the world really is your oyster!

That said, you don’t need to leave Salford Quays. The area has shops, cafes, stylish bars and restaurants, a water sports centre, The Lowry theatre, and a cinema with huge comfortable seats. It’s a lovely spot for a Sunday morning walk too.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We went with Ecotricity – the electricity supplier recommended by the building management. We didn’t realise how expensive this company was and, combined with a lack of understanding about how the apartment’s heating system worked, ended up with a large bill.

What is the best feature of your home:

It feels really safe. The staff are onsite 24/7 and if there’s no one at the reception desk there is a number we can call if we need assistance.
