The design of the development is very well thought-out, the houses are well spaced apart and this does give you a feel of luxury.
Due to the infancy of the development we have not really seen the grounds management other than the mowing of some grass at the front of the development. They do not collect the grass that they cut, they just leave it which I do feel lets the estate down. They should collect the grass since the residents pay for the service.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
The development is located on the edge of Selby but it is only a 10-15 minute walk into the town centre. Due to the development being close to Selby town it means restaurants and pubs are close enough to walk to, especially on a nice warm day.
The development is set back from the main road, this does mean that most traffic cannot be heard on the street we live on.
The development also have fields to 3 sides of it which really does make you feel that you are in the countryside, I have even seen owls and deer close to the development.
The only concern I have is that the development entrance is around 100m from the start and end of a national speed limit road, this is meaning that vehicles do not slow down to the 30mph speed limit when passing the development, I do feel further traffic calming measures do need to be taken to make the main road safe, especially at night.
Luckily most people park on their driveways or in the allocated parking spots meaning that (at the moment) the streets aren’t littered with parked cars.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
My best piece of advice is to ensure major issues (which would bother you to live with) are fixed before you move in. The builder will tell you that they will do these things after you move in but I can honestly say that you are their number 1 priority until they receive your money. You will be waiting a long time! Save your holidays because you will use them resolving issues. Ask existing residents for their opinion.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
The sorting of snags with Harron Homes is terrible and very stressful, if you read the negative reviews on trust pilot, these are all accurate.
