I love the home that myself and my partner are creating, however this has been a lot of effort!

In short, the house reflects the price paid.
I love the home that myself and my partner are creating, however this has been a lot of effort!
We have had ongoing issues which Gleeson took a long time to resolve. Always pleasant when meeting them and appear keen to resolve issues quickly but struggle to respond or return within a timely manner.
Areas of the home have appeared rushed or not properly checked before moving on to the next stage, issues such as two ‘out’ pipes together rather than an ‘in and out’ pipe.
Having said this, I am very proud of our home and proudly tell people We live hear.
I would advise for any first time buyer!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Overall, I do enjoy living in Creswell, I have pleasant neighbours and feel that there is a nice community spirit around Creswell in general. There are many shops however limited choice, but there is a larger shopping area 10 minutes away.
Unfortunately there is a lot of ‘low level teen crime’ in the area, particularly around school holidays periods resulting in disruption, gangs and fires.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Each step I took was a brand a new situation, therefore I believe I am not in a situation to comment on this.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes. Each issue has been resolved, however at times this has proven challenging.

Unsure

Design is not the best as we ordered standard wardrobes for bedrooms and they wouldn’t go up the stairs due to the low ceiling justcas the stairs start. It came with a furniture pack and we had to choose designs and colours before roof was complete. I thought this was odd but now I know it was because of the access from the stairs.
The snagging list was quite long as there were still outstanding jobs to be completed, we had a leak under the sink which took six attempts to repair before it was finally done. Site manager wasn’t the easiest to approach as he thought some of the jobs weren’t worth the effort. Assistant manager was really nice and I approached him more often than not. Not a lot of storage space either. Estate itself is nice but roads are horrendous until plots are cometed. Smoke alarms had to be replaced as they were going off for no reason, heating system was buzzing until valves replaced, then heating was on even when it was switched off. Cooker wasn’t set correctly and this was due to it leaning against a pipe at the rear.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s not a bad area, a decent.olished council plot with new houses. Still surrounded by social housing with one or two undesirable tennants

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The community watch programme didn’t last long, we were able to alert neighbours of any suspicious activity but it was scrapped not long after we moved in. There are no emergency contact numbers for the weekend in case of emergencies.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Slowly very slowly, I felt once we were in all the attention turned to the houses still being built and snags were not a priority.

Inexpensive houses but not a great area to live

The side of the development where I live is nice now they have surfaced the roads but they should have fully tarmacked the driveways. Over on the new part of the development the houses are too close together and the pavements are not very wide which is a problem for the disabled and people pushing prams.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The range of shops and takeaway restaurants is good. Their are good bus and train services from the village. The problem is antisocial behavior, there are a number of teenagers that terrorize the village and the police seem unable to stop them.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known about another development of 400 properties that is now taking place which will back onto our estate

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

As above, the site managers keep changing. We had a really good assistant site manager when i moved in who got things done but it has gone downhill since.

Life on Linkswood Park Rotherham

I’m very happy with my 3 bedroom semi and garage. (Lisbon) I have recently retired and wanted to buy a new built for less maintenance and cost efficiency. Very pleased with the build quality and I hardly ever use the heating. The garden is a good size.
The only issue I have is with all the Hardcore that has been used on drives and the Cul-de-sac I live on. It spreads onto the pavement and the main access road (Myers Avenue) It gets thrown up by cars and is not very good when walking on the pavement. Where I live it is so thick that cars sink into it, and the cul-de sac slopes down hill, so in winter I can see it causing problems for the owners who live at the bottom end. It spoils the look of the estate.
The few problems I have had when I first moved into the property were dealt with straight away. I must say a big thank you to and all of the contractors on site who are still working on building new homes for being considerate to people who had already moved onto site.
Also a big thank you to Stuart and Paul (when he was on site) who have always been very helpful.

2 Supermarkets and bus transport links are within a 5 minute walk of Linkswood Park development. Rotherham Town centre, including railway station is within a 5 minute drive. Motorway M1 and M18 links are within a 10 minute drive. Even though you have easy access to facilities, you don’t hear traffic noise.
My own personal parking is great. I have a garage and space on my drive for 2 vehicles. The cul-de-sac I live on has adequate space for the other home owners. I have lived here for 12 months and never had any issues with cars being parked to cause any obstruction. Bin collections (no Issues)

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Just be aware that if you move onto a new building site with properties still being completed.. Expect to put up with dirty cars and dust for a while

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I had problems with my front door lock and the extractor fan in the kitchen. All sorted no fuss
