Really enjoying the lifestyle here – great views, staff and everything just works. Admin is minimal and a lot better than traditional tenant-landlord arrangements. Recommend this to all types of tenants – singles / students / young couples etc.” – Hleung, verified resident at Elephant Central

“My wife and I are in our 70s. We sold up a huge house to downsize and free ourselves from the burden of ownership. And what a great place to live. Masses to do, great transport for us and the grandchildren. Fantastic service from Get Living. We are just about to sign up for our second 3 year term.” – Neil H, verified resident at East Village

The home you always wanted

Review Date Sep 2020

Very helpful management. Took feedback into consideration and employed more security around. Very well managed parks and green spaces. Always keeping residents up to date on what’s happening in the area. Good furniture in the houses. Well laid out houses with good layout.
Only negative – the team are not very responsive all the time.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Absolutely love the community feel. It feels like you’re away from the bustle of London yet very well connected. You’re surrounded by convenience of local shops, the Westfield mall, grocery stores, NHS and a school. Super green which is a big plus. All in all, great Community for singles,
Couples, families, Babies, and even older people.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If you ever need urgent assistance or they’re not responding to you, just drop by the office. They’re a busy lot. And before prices go up further book your home here now!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building mgmt and maintenance have been very prompt and responsive

Manager Response

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We hope to continue serving you with the highest standards.

East Village is amazing

I have lived in East Village with Get Living for almost a year and my only regret is not moving there sooner! The developments are lovely, the flats are really well set out and decorated to a very high spec. The overall condition of the properties is excellent.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There are plenty of local shops and restaurants, and plenty of amenities, gyms, exercise places etc.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How nice the whole area is, so that I could have moved in earlier

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very well. There is an easy app to use to request maintenance.

It really feels like you’re part of something special

New Makers Yard is a lovely community, people are friendly, the amenities are great and it really feels like you’re part of something special, not just living in an apartment complex.

The facilities are great and it feels secure. The design is great, lovely landscaping and feels very serene.

Favourite bonus is that they allow dogs, it’s a great place for to live with a pet and it makes it really easy to make friends.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It feels like a bit of serene greenery near busy Manchester. The downside is the amount of main-roads nearby and lack of shops and bars in walking distance, hoping this will improve.
Seven Brothers is great and we could definitely benefit from more like this in the area, especially with how busy it has got since others have moved in.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Think about which way your balcony is facing if you love the sun!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Make them available to buy once renters have lived there for 3 years!

Ecstatic about East Village

Our building is always really clean and tidy and I feel very safe whenever I enter and leave the building
One thing I really like is the community feel every time I step into the lift or step out. Somebody says hello.
We are very lucky to have a building where we can have our own balcony with a lovely view of London

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I love living in East Village. I’ve been living here for 8 months and my partner for 8 years and we absolutely love it.
Transport- very well connected, only a 3 minute walk to The DLR or train at Stratford International and a 10 minute walk to the main striated station with so many underground and overground links including the new Elizabeth line. I love going out and knowing I have a safe way to get home in the evening.
Bars and restaurants- a wide variety of both bars and restaurants just a few minutes down the road with my personal favourite Sante which is a lovely Italian restaurant
Shops- Westfield’s is literally 10 minutes down the road with lots of shops. Sainsbury’s is also a couple of minutes up the road in east village but I miss how big it used to be ! Still managed to get a lot of shopping done however
Parking- there are several car parks available and on road permit only parking so plenty of choice

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we knew we couldn’t buy our own bed because we wanted a bed with storage in. However we have found some innovate ways to create extra space for ourselves

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Very quickly every time there is an issue it is resolved very fast and fealty with very professionally

Serene place in vibrant city

What I love the most about my home, is the amount of natural light it has. It is bright and has wonderful spacious open plan. My flat came with lovely design and furniture that made me feel right at home.
I live on the 8th floor and I have huge balcony – this has given me the feeling of being in a private home instead of living in an apartment building. It is very quiet and secluded from the noise of the city.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

My apartment building is next to the vibrant Westfield mall. It is only couple of minutes of walk to access my any possible imaginable need. I have all the banks, mobile providers, clothing shops near by, I can use a gym, I can go to the cinema – you name it!. Best restaurants of Stratford and Hackney Wick are walking distance. I can ride to all parts of London from my home station.
I have never had such amazing accessibility.
What I love the most is the amount of choice in East Village – I can have a stroll in the mall, I could taste tens of different cuisines and I can walk in the picturesque nature by the river and forget I’m even in the city. East Village has everything and for every taste.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

What I have noticed is people often having problems with construction work nearby. I have gotten lucky and this does not trouble me at all, but for a possible future tenant, it is always necessary to find out what is the future construction plan. After all we all want to live in East Village for an extended period of time, would be a shame if noise pollution would ruin that experience.

What is the best feature of your home:

The best feature of my home is being part of a community. Get Living is so involved in East Village life and well being and it is wonderful.
