Easy Living

Verified Resident

As a resident in the East Village for five years, my overall impression of living here, is that it’s a wonderful place to live in London.

The apartments are well appointed, with minimalist, modern decor & furnishings – if you opt to rent a furnished apartment and I like the individuality of the architecture in the development; from Zaha Hadid’s London Aquatic Centre to the Greek building in the village having plaster casts of the Parthenon.
The Get Living maintenance team do a great job with servicing the apartments and maintaining the grounds.

It’s also chock full of fantastic shops, transport links, amenities & leisure facilities and businesses.

The most convenient place in the City

Verified Resident

The apartments are nice and is extremely convenient for pretty much everything: transport, food, shopping, grocery. The flats are furnished but it leaves you enough to add your touch to the place. Having visited others who have lived in East Village before, I decide to make the move myself and I can only really say good things about it.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area always feel safe, no matter what time of the day it is. There are cameras and security on site at all times.

The only negative I’d say is that occasionally, you can hear noise from surrounding restaurants and bars at weekends.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I see a lot of people running to the stations in the morning. It would be useful to get timetable of nearby stations when you move in to make morning routine planning easier.

Great,

Verified Resident

Spacious and lovely! Great place to live if you’re young and working in London. The resident team are brilliant and very attentive to any problems you might have. Commute is fantastic, you can get a direct train to kings cross in 7 minutes. The coffe shops below are perfect for brunch!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Central line, it’s too busy for the amount of people who need to commute into the city. I just use the high speed rail to kings cross, however this is the more expensive option, more affordable options are needed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The underfloor heating could be better, but east village have told me that they’re going to fix this.

Great space for retired people

Verified Resident

My wife and I are in our 70s. We sold up a huge house to downsize and free ourselves from the burden of ownership. And what a great place to live. Masses to do, great transport for us and the grandchildren. Fantastic service from Get Living. We are just about to sign up for our second 3 year term

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Love it’s cosmopolitan nature, shopping, restaurants, the Park etc

Can’t think of anything I dislike

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I’d known how much pressure. It took off me. Renting from a build to rent developer gives all the security we need

Serene neighbourhood

Verified Resident

Great neighbourhood to live in, lots of shops and bars and very well connected with lots of green space, feels like you’re out of London. The area is pretty expensive to rent in comparison to other areas but there is no desposit or fees!

Friendly staff working at get living although they do take a while to reply to queries

They also have a security team that check the area which is great and makes you feel very safe

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great bars and restaurants, real sense of community and lots of activities to join in with! Really well connected and a serene place to live away from the hectic work life in central London

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Great community activities and groups like choir and sports groups! Get living London always put on great events every month!

3 weeks in and so far it’s great!

Verified Resident

Currently in my 3rd week of living in the East Village, having recently moved from SW London.

It’s got a very strong community feel, lots of activities going on in the surrounding area, and lots of services available within short walking distance.

Positive things to highlight are the incredibly easy transport links, and multiple options to get into central. Also most ammenities are on your doorstep or within 5/10 min walk – Sainsbury’s local, better gym, restaurants/cafes, local veg and butcher, dentist etc…

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Likes: Community feel, ambundant transport links, close amenities.

Dislikes: weekends can get quite busy due to Westfield being so close – but it’s nothing too bad

Never planning on leaving

Verified Resident

Have lived in the east village since the beginning after moving here from Canada and the improvements and developments have been amazing. Everything is super accessible the staff are so friendly and helpful and it really does feel like home. They do their best to create a community and I am super grateful for all the fun things we get in our very own neighbourhood. I love how we have tons of green spaces, lots of recreational activities and just a good hustle and bustle without it feeling crowded and overwhelmingly. Best of all is all the transportation points.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

more garbage cans and recycling points!

Olympic Park Living

Verified Resident

Being one of the first tenants in East village with Get Living it’s crazy to see it grow to what it is today. Ideally located for all transport links and the Olympic Park. Get Living are usually quick to respond to issues when reported.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Lots of local council owned things no longer work e.g lamppost

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I knew how much rent would likely increase after our first three year tenancy.

Fantastic development and area for those who can afford it.

Verified Resident

As one of the first residents to move into Eaat Village over five years ago, Get Living had been a fantastic landlord.

The apartment itself is great: well finished, large for the area, although the communal areas aren’t upkept as much as they should be.

Moving in was a breeze, and GetLiving are pretty quick to fix issues that are raised about the flat or other areas of the village. They’re not always super fast or forthcoming, as some issues are fixed with bodgejobs rather than fixed properly.

We’ve had some issues with loud parties late at night: noise reverbates and travels from the winter balconies, echoing around the internal courtyards.

It’s also expensive, paying at the top end of the full zone 2 market although EV is a little further out than most z2 areas. Yearly inflation rentals are fine, but we have been shocked by the amount which our contract was renewed at (and not looking forward to next year).

Overall, we’d 100% recommend East Village and Get Living.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is great for getting into work in the city or Canary Wharf. Being so close to Westfield is great for shopping and little bits. Sainsbury’s isn’t open proper hours, which is annoying at weekends.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Facing into the courtyard is great, but bad neighbours can make it not so good.
