Really enjoying the lifestyle here – great views, staff and everything just works. Admin is minimal and a lot better than traditional tenant-landlord arrangements. Recommend this to all types of tenants – singles / students / young couples etc.” – Hleung, verified resident at Elephant Central

“My wife and I are in our 70s. We sold up a huge house to downsize and free ourselves from the burden of ownership. And what a great place to live. Masses to do, great transport for us and the grandchildren. Fantastic service from Get Living. We are just about to sign up for our second 3 year term.” – Neil H, verified resident at East Village

The home you always wanted

Review Date Sep 2020

Very helpful management. Took feedback into consideration and employed more security around. Very well managed parks and green spaces. Always keeping residents up to date on what’s happening in the area. Good furniture in the houses. Well laid out houses with good layout.
Only negative – the team are not very responsive all the time.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Absolutely love the community feel. It feels like you’re away from the bustle of London yet very well connected. You’re surrounded by convenience of local shops, the Westfield mall, grocery stores, NHS and a school. Super green which is a big plus. All in all, great Community for singles,
Couples, families, Babies, and even older people.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

If you ever need urgent assistance or they’re not responding to you, just drop by the office. They’re a busy lot. And before prices go up further book your home here now!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building mgmt and maintenance have been very prompt and responsive

Manager Response

Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us. We hope to continue serving you with the highest standards.

Nice enough but overpriced

The apartment itself is nicely appointed, modern fixtures, underfloor heating etc. Property management leaves a lot to be desired. For example, ring about a water leak problem, and they’ll send a carpenter and the ventilation engineer but not anyone who knows about the water system. Heating and hot water bills are tied to East London Energy and can’t be changed away. I found my bills are two or three times as much purely because of this. For the price I expect better service and lower bills.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good location, very well connected, close to green space and clean. Lots of shops and cafes etc in the neighbourhood. Can be noisy at times especially summer evenings as there are lots of parties on balconies. While it’s nice to have restaurants and cafes, there’s only one supermarket and it has a bad selection on offer, is always out of stock and the staff are very rude. It would be nice to have a second supermarket option.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Wish I knew how expensive the bills would be!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Better sound proofing, it can be unbearable especially in summer when you want the windows open

East Village E20 is a top location for living in East London

The development is great and it transformed this corner of East London and it is a diverse and vibrant community. Some of the buildings were designed for the London 2012 Olympics and the new additions have excellent design and top-class construction standards. The management team are very friendly.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent location for transport, the neighbourhood has a range of amenities, including shops, restaurants, cafes, and green spaces. There are also several schools in the area, making it a popular choice for families. Overall, the East Village offers a modern and convenient living experience in one of London’s most dynamic areas.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Great green spaces, pet-friendly community. Rents might fit all budgets with a variety of homes to choose from.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The management team has a fast response time for problems raised via a friendly easy-to-use portal for the residents.

Zone 1 new-built with good transport connections

When I moved in 2 years ago, it was just opened for renting and no one lived here before. I really liked it! The rooms are spacious however the furniture isn’t really suitable for living in for the long term as there is not enough storage, also there is almost no flexibility from a landlord on bringing your own furniture to substitute theirs. Balconies are quite spacious but the flooring there is with some vigorous spacing and I don’t like it very much. The general design of communal spaces is very subtle and nice. I love the receptionists, always attentive and ready to help. It is very nice to have 24/7 security on site, make you feel safe. The property management is also very attentive however I do not like that they can access your apartment in your absence – this isn’t usually allowed nowhere and I always fight hard against it. However the most important thing for me here is that this development accepts pets which is rare in Zone 1

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s a very vibrant area with mixed nationalities all around and lots of young population living in. Mercato Metropolitano is the most popular place to go for a drink or inexpensive meal. A lot of new developments are in construction and the neighborhood is improving day by day

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Good connection to almost anywhere having London Bridge and Waterloo in a walking distance; Pets are welcome!

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Have an option of unfurnished or semi furnished apartment, have a storage, have a garage. Booking for the use of communal kitchen

Love the East Village

Our flat is very spacious and we love the layout. The best part is the winter garden – that has been a godsend during Covid. We love having two bathrooms too, but do wish there was more storage space – currently we use under the bed and the wardrobe as storage, but there is only two of us in a 2 bedroom flat – i can imagine those in a flatshare would struggle with the lack of storage. The communal areas and the lifts are always kept clean, and the flat has lots of amenities (though a flat with air conditioning would have been great during summer and I know some of them have a built in microwave which ours doesn’t so it takes up quite a lot of space in the kitchen!)

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I love living in the East Village, i love the community feel and the amenities and all the green space. It’s a great location for getting around London with all the transport links, but still has that village-feel which i’m yet to experience anywhere else in London. There are times when other residents or non-residents can cause inconvenience such as noise or groups hanging around which makes others feel a bit unsafe, but other than that i love living here.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The great bars and restaurants in the local area – a local guide to these would be amazing!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The only issues we have raised have been some small maintenance points, most of which were fixed easily. We do have an issue with the en suite shower drainage which someone has been out to fix twice but it’s still a problem, so we ended up just dealing with it but it can be an inconvenience.
