Good location but development needs more care and attention.

Some areas of the development need to be finished as you enter the development we still have unfinished roads and paths that look a mess. Also have what can only be described as a waste land area at the entrance of the development where a school is meant to be built by September and nothing has been started yet. The development has very few paths so you and young children have to walk in the road which is very dangerous. There is only street lighting on the main road going into the development once again can cause problems when having to walk in the road at night. The park on the development is very small and doesn’t keep a child entertained for long.

Location is good walking distance to town and train station. Good parks and countryside close by. Some anti-social from a select few houses have cause a problem.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

You are 100% stuck with fibernest broadband good speed but does cut out from time to time and you can not change providers. You get 0 phone signal in the area and have no landlines.

What is the best feature of your home:

Location is perfect for us, and we felt the price was reasonable

The design is good but they need to pay attention to people who bought the houses and come and fix there mistakes.

The design is good.
Customer services are not good. Staff are not turning up Worst brickworks. Charles Church promise and then refuses to resolve the problem. Massive amount of cracks on rendered wall and never rectified
Outstanding snags from the original 7 day list, 1,3 months after moving in to our property. Some snags have now been attended too up to 3 times and still can’t seem to rectify to a good quality standard…..I think you need to implement quality assurance. Charles church sourced the cheapest materials to build with to maximise on profit.
Don’t care about you after the sales. Very stressful journey.

Good local shops, restaurants. Bus stop is very close .Living on my street is very good, Parking availability, bin collection is on time. No anti-social behaviour. Little traffic noise. After five months of living in my property, the area is still not shown on google maps. When my husband was dyeing, ambulance barely found my address. It is already 1,5 year since we moved in the delivery still getting wrong adress.

Get an independent inspection before moving into the property!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The builders come to have a look at the issue and then never come back to actually fix it. If they are fixing anything, it is breaking again very easily or they damage something else.

Beautiful setting and lovely neighbours

The development is in an excellent position within walking distance of the town centre, in beautiful grounds. the designs of all the houses are good, with different designs for each style of house, they are very attractive.

The development has some public areas, some of which have been left as wild meadow, and others have been laid to lawn. There is a large central area that we were led to believe would be laid to lawn as well but has currently just been prepared, so we will wait to see how this grows. The groundsman is quite rude, but we choose to avoid/ignore him, all the other employees of Charles Church have been lovely.

The small issues with the property have been mainly sorted within the first 6 months, with the exception of the rear fence to our property and our neighbours. However, overall the development is very nice.

The area is perfect with mainly independent shops and lots of restaurants and pubs. The development has adequate parking, rubbish collections by the local authority, and the neighbours are very welcoming and the area is very safe.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The development is in the grounds of a manor house which although developed into apartments, none have yet sold (bad design, too high price is my opinion). This property is now being sold as a whole and everyone is concerned as to what it will turn into. That combined with the lack of knowledge on the public grounds – lawn or meadow, just adds to uncertainty.

What is the best feature of your home:

The location is the best feature, the design and style is ideal for us. We have a bedroom suite on the top floor which means we can remove ourselves from visitors if we need to.

The site manager was great I started to contact him instead of her

When we first went to A meeting about buying a house with Charles Church with the sales representative, We came away quite disappointed as she was very awkward and kind of put a downer on us buying a house she wasn’t very helpful at the start, You were meant to be excited when you are buying a house she made it not exciting , I live in a close and every single neighbour said they had the same experience with her and that’s 4 or 5 houses , They said they never had a good experience with her . The site manager was great I started to contact him instead of her. I’m not sure if she still works here As I have been in here a year but she did not sell me the house at all when I went in there to buy it she put me off more than anything but I knew that the house is a good quality , For instance when you go to buy a new car the sales representative give you information and sales you on that car where as we went in and nothing was sold to us at all.

Quite where I live in the corner , a lot of dust from building site comes over windows always dusty .

Think one of the bad things is And it’s not just me let’s pick this up is the gardens they’re not level a lot of them go up a lot of them go down they should be really when you’re buying a house all levelled out

The best feature in my home would be the bedroom because it is quite large
