Love it!

We love the design of our house – open plan enough to feel spacious, yet homely! Our lounge is at the front & would have been nice to be a little bit bigger, but other rooms are well proportioned and love the flow of the kitchen into the garden at the back. We were early in the Northstone journey so have an older kitchen design with less worktop space, so we might look to adapt like the newer houses at some point. We love having our own private parking and great sized garden. All told, we’d only been here a few weeks & it felt like we’d been here forever – we love it!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent location, close enough to main roads & transport links but also tucked away. Easy access to shops and local amenities. Great community spirit

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Understand how the technology really works – it’s great but if you dont know how to work it is a bit of a waste

What is the best feature of your home:

Open space, high ceilings and big windows bringing in lots of light

Our Forever Home

The design of the houses is fantastic and unlike anything we have seen in other new build developments. Snags have been rectified and were they haven’t, Customer Care have been excellent at putting tickets in to ensure these jobs get sorted. From start to finish, everyone at Northstone have been absolutely fantastic – answering our questions and having patience with us as first-time buyers. The Smart Home features of the houses are excellent and are a positive addition to the living experience.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Barrowford is a lovely village with some nice bars and restaurants. The area has a number of good schools too. The location is perfect for onward travel given how close it is to the motorway but without the noise pollution.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How to operate the Wondrwall smart home system (especially in relation to heating/thermostats) would have been better with in-person demonstrations rather than remote calls.

What is the best feature of your home:

Too many to mention! We love the Kitchen which is well kitted out, big windows that give in lots of light, Lootility and the overall warmth of the house.

This is our first home together and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place!

The designs of the houses are not like regular new builds. When you hear the words new builds, you think paper thin walls, no space and crammed together, these are none of that. We live between a new born baby, 2 big dogs, we do not hear anything! When the doors are closed we do not hear anything (even bonfire night was pretty quiet). There are so many hidden storage spaces in the houses and the overall designs have really been thought out, from the large windows allowing lots of light in, to the technology allowing us to take control of our home and feel secure by turning on the lights to welcome me home. We have met a few of the property management workers when we had an mould issue and each and every one of them have been accommodating and lovely. A suggestion for improvement would be a window in the bathroom, poor ventilation and dust collection is an issue there.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The estate is great, everybody seems friendly and there are no issues with noise. It’s still a surprise being so close to a train line and motor way, that we do not hear either. However, there are a lack facilities. There is a petrol station with a shop down the road but it would be beneficial to have something centred within the estate (shop, cafe, etc).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How easily people can see in through the windows, we have managed to easily rectify this with window tint stickers, but it would have been nice to know.

What is the best feature of your home:

The bathroom. Having the ability to have a rainfall shower and a bath, whilst not feeling cramped, is very handy and perfect for all needs.

Design is great

Design is great, after care was slow with issues still outstanding. Not a lot of space for the money but nice high ceilings and design on the outside. Had issues with plumbing, 3 x of the radiators and the internal stop tap all leaking immediately or shortly after moving in. Smart features are a great addition and the Samsung goods for the fridge/induction hobs. Houses are nice and warm heat up quickly and maintain the heat, not expensive to run. Gardens an okay size but not enough patio, the rest of it is that sleep will be expensive to make use of it. Large windows let a lot of light in especially at the back door. Extractor fan didn’t work when we moved in and fire alarm would go off randomly for no reason. Flooring the development puts in is really good quality however it has lifted in the bathroom potentially due to another leak. Bathroom finishes are great, nice shower/tiles/taps and little finishes. Now the house has shifted a bit half of the doors won’t shut and the coating they use on all the kitchen cupboards peels off easily

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Estate in a great location, near the high street with a selections of bars and restaurants, only a 5min drive for the motorway for the commute. Estate is nice and quiet/friendly

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I’d probably recommend getting your own snagger in to go over the house and pick up anything you might miss yourself that isn’t to standard

What is the best feature of your home:

Most electric goods, flooring etc included in the price, area and design are appealing
