The companies aim was to achieve the City’s residential growth ambitions for Ancoats and New Islington, and to create the necessary momentum for regeneration to take hold. It’s worth the hype!!

Absolutely love the layout of my corner apartment. The flow of the space features an open kitchen and living room floor plan, with a large kitchen island. Lots of storage space in the kitchen- A very good space for hosting!
The bedrooms are a great size and the en suites have a very large shower too.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Amazing location- some amazing independent business right underneath the building e.g. Flawd- a natural wine bar and Pollen- an award winning bakery with great coffee.
New Islington Tram is a 5 min walk away which is a link to all over the city centre and further afield e.g Didsbury
Traffic noise is non existent from the flat. The building is in a pedestrians area and the closest main road is too far away to hear

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How lovely the concierge team are! They’re so helpful and welcoming and really make the whole place feel warm and well looked after

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Good! The maintenance portal system is an efficient way of ensuring things in the flat or fixed and accounted for. All of these issues have been sorted in a good time too

Living close by a big city center

The design of the apartments is really nice and spacious. The facilities are great – always clean. The concierge staff are always helpful and very friendly. We haven’t had much communication with the building and property management but anytime we have spoken to them it has been fine.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is a very nice area, lots of surrounding outdoor space with bars and restaurants. Good transport links to city center. Car park for the building but lots of free parking spaces in surrounding areas. No traffic noise.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How cold the apartment would be. The heating is not very good either.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They have sent someone in in the past to check our windows for drafts – they were nice but couldn’t do much.

Generally a nice place to be

Design of the flats is really smart and makes fantastic use of the space. Exterior of the building is a bit weird but you don’t tend to notice after a while (why so spangly and gold??)

The concierges are all very nice and helpful. There is very limited parking and what there is is (in my view) far too expensive considering the already fairly expensive rent. The residents terrace feels like a missed opportunity – I’ve never in my life seen anyone use it, because it is basically a bench on the ground floor next to the canal. If it was made prettier I think we’d be much more likely to use it.

The lobby is very nice – why is one of the lifts padded year round? Not necessarily a complaint but a bit confusing.

The gym is all right – could use a rowing machine and a few more weights/machines but I can see obviously it is tight on space.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Location is ideal but obviously at the moment it’s a bit of a building site as there are lots of other developments around. Suspect this will improve in the next few years.

Good bars and restaurants a 10 min walk away, Great Ancoats Street and Old Mill Street are both a bit of a dive and need some love. Constantly dirty and filled with litter.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

PLEASE make it clear that parking is a) charged for at £120 per month and b) not included automatically – it was a real issue when moving in and nearly put me off taking the flat. I am still on the waiting list after about 6 months.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We had an issue with the front door but it was resolved very quickly.

Great location, with fantastic transport links and very close to the city centre

The building is well-designed with a concierge desk at the front (which is extremely useful for receiving deliveries and resolving little problems that may occur). The flats are lovely, though unfurnished, they are a great blank canvas for making the flat exactly how you want it. Weavers Quay doesn’t have a gym but you are able to access a neighbouring gym for free (2 minute walk away). Apartments are well-ventilated, with automated vents throughout and there is excellent sound-proofing between flats. Have lived here for over 3 years and love it here.

Great location, with fantastic transport links and very close to the city centre. New Islington Marina is on our doorstep, one of the most picturesque parts of central Manchester. If you’re lucky enough to have a flat that looks out onto the canal, then you have a lovely view – some may look out onto building works instead. Ancoats and New Islington are full of fantastic restaurants, bars and shops – just a short walk away. Northern Quarter is also very close by! Parking can be an issue if you do not own a car and want friends and family to visit but concierges are very helpful and will always try to help with this.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

You can’t hear much from other flats or from the outside!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Manchester Life are a difficult agency to deal with, with many mistakes and incompetencies arising, but the system for sorting maintenance issues is very good!
