City-centre living with lovely building management
Building management is great, Adam has always gone out of his way to be helpful and he’s a lovely guy. Basically anyone from the management is nice and sociable with the residents, will hear you out and try to help you with whatever. I live in a double bathroom apartment which is very nice. T
he design of the flats is nice, but in hot or cold temperatures the temperature is exacerbated by the building, at least on the ground floor. It’s freezing in winter and boiling in summer, which I don’t think is helped by the giant windows. It is a listed building I think so it’s not like they can change the huge stone walls or the huge windows so it’s unavoidable but it’s worth noting. Another point is that most of the residents here are lovely and friendly and helpful, we move or keep packages for each other or lend things to help each other out.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
Very close to the centre, supermarkets and shops, really easy to walk to lots of close by places. Car park is secure, bin collections have improved over time and there’s no issues really. Living at the front of the building I think you can sometimes hear loud people shouting but it doesn’t happen lots and it’s kind of a given living so close to the centre.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
It’s a really lovely building, you never know who you’ll move in with but most people friendly and helpful to each other. The fact it gets so freezing in winter I would have liked to know because it costs a bomb to heat the big rooms with electric radiators, but that’s due to bills being crazy expensive at the moment. I’m not sure if this is as bad if you’re on the upper levels, but it’s quite an issue for me on the ground floor.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
They answer messages or the phones really quickly and they are always receptive to resident comments if there’s any small issues in the building or between residents
