Linkcity Reviews

“Linkcity in conjunction with the London Borough of Newham present Hallsville Quarter, a new development in East London’s Canning Town. It forms part of the GBP3.7billion regeneration project that’s taking place in that area of the capital, which will result in an exciting and thriving new quarter. Hallsville Quarter will not only create a mixed-used community with shops and leisure activities, it will also provide 1,100 new residential properties and affordable housing. There’s also a shared landscape garden for residents to enjoy, which is especially handy for families looking for outdoor space close to their homes. The price per square foot for this development is around GBP644, just slightly over the average for the E16 postcode of GBP554.” – HomeViews Property Pro on Hallsville Quarter

Satisfied

Helpful and friendly property management. Vaidas is very responsive. Concierge are good at tracking deliveries. Management are active in organising communal events

The WiFi is quite bad at times and drops quite often. The gym could be more equipped with weights (when facilities become open again)

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Easy access to transport links. Close to supermarkets. Up and coming area.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is direct access to Morrisons from the parking in the basement.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No particular issues but generally responsive to questions

Excellent location, and sufficient facilities with a great podium garden and a rooftop garden, but managing agent could be better!

Build quality while pretty good, is not as high as the level of what it was being marketed at the time. The gym is also surprisingly too small.

Otherwise a good development with sufficient facilities especially the podium garden is great and most importantly excellent location, especially with direct basement access to shops like Morrisons etc.

Meanwhile the managing agent itself has been the main issue that is disappointing. Just very passive, not competent enough, and not transparent enough. Dealing with issues, they are not prompt enough. If this is improved, there would be little to fault this development.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Access to transport links are excellent, with DLR and Tube just opposite, as well as bus terminal too.

Availability of shops/restaurants are also excellent, being in basically a newly developed town centre, and only getting better.

Traffic noise is something that can be improved. Bin collections is also still a bit problematic with the bins are basically too small and easily overfilled.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How good the managing agent would be. How responsible the developers would be in addressing snags.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not prompt and swift enough, very passive and need lots of chasing. They also did not do proper handover from the developers leading to ongoing recurring issues where the managing agent just didn’t seem to have a good hold of the problem.

Poor Management Ruins a Modern Flat

The building is spacious and relatively new. It has good transport links and is comfortable for a young professional.

However, management is very poor. It took 4 months of following up to get a real response over renewing my tenancy – the delay meant I was forced to move out. Additionally, it has been a further month and I have still not received my deposit.

Dealing with poor management and constantly having to follow up for months is not worth the effort: STAY AWAY!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent transport links and a developing area. However there is no real culture in Cannning town – it’s half gentrified so has the worst of both worlds – not busy enough to attract major shops/bars but not authentic enough to retain a culture.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

They try and overcharge you when you move out – check your report and push back!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Poorly. It took 4 months of following up to get a real response over renewing my tenancy – the delay meant I was forced to move out. Additionally, it has been a further month and I have still not received my deposit.

Good place to live

Hallsville quarter is a nice place to live, modern and clean. The position is excellent for Morrisons downstairs and the tube and bus station at 2 minutes walk.
The flats are very new and quite.
The garden is looked after very well.
The only problem is the rubbish. 3 bins are not enough for 85 apartments, plus the building management team is very poor in proving the fob key. We are still waiting for it since March, not even had a response from them.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good position, new flats, quiet place to live.
Poor rubbish management

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Getting the fob key

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Not very helpful at all. Our agency and ourself tried many times to get the fob key for months and still had no reply
