No deposit returned after 6 weeks

The place was all ok until my tenancy ended.
The financial department of this company is terrible. I am now nearly 6 weeks following the end of tenancy and still have not received my deposit.
Despite a number of emails and still no response.
I have encountered a similar problem before where I was supposed to be reimbursed money back for parking and did not receive anything. Instead I had to deduct this myself from the monthly salary.
Now I have to go through a legal route to retrieve my deposit.
Terrible

Very happy here!

The whole moving in and living process has been amazing! The team are so helpful and the buildings are gorgeous, super spacious and welcoming and beautifully designed. Roof terraces and co working spaces are so pretty with plenty of space and feel really well thought out. Everyone who works here is lovely and it feels like nothing is too much trouble. Lots of lifts/space so it feels very private and welcoming.

An amazing place to live! Only 5 minutes from the centre of Digbeth including the custard factory, bars, cafes and amazing food places. Gyms super close by. Bus stops just outside and just a 12 min walk to the Bullring/New St and Moor st stations. Parking around the area in car parks etc.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Nothing I would add, but would really encourage you to view – and pay attention to the floor plans when you’re choosing a flat as all the flats are really different.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I had a minor issue which was a snagging from it being newly built and it was sorted in the same morning.

Local shops and restaurants are great with the canal only a couple minutes walk away

The design, facilities and building are mostly good. However small issues that are common with new builds are present; damp and mould along the windows, stiff doors, etc.

Maintenance is varied – they’re either really on top of it and have your issue sorted within a couple days or they struggle to persist with an issue reported multiple times.

The building is cleaned/hoovered often and usually in excellent condition.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Local shops and restaurants are great with the canal only a couple minutes walk away and broad street across the road. The tram link to New Street is very fast and comes often so really convenient for work. Living on this street is great because it’s close enough to broad street for the convenience but far enough away that you don’t hear any clubbing noise/antisocial behaviour. Parking availability is great though the spaces against the bollards are tight – reasonably priced private parking. Minimal traffic noise, only problem is loud music from residents/visitors cars. Bin collections are the main problem which deducted a majority of the previous points; people still used the closed bin rooms and were unsure on why they needed to be closed in the first place when so many buildings use them. Also, bin collection is varied – sometimes it’s really on time and sometimes it takes days of rubbish piling up before they’re collected. When the bins were previously left on the road to be collected the smell to our flat was horrible, though this hasn’t happened in a while.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There’s a limited amount of hot water which becomes difficult.
Some unfriendly pets whose owners have little control over.
Night staff aren’t the most responsive to issues. though, I understand they’re main role is security and that is much appreciated however they feel under-informed on the role of the day management.
Radiators have poor electric rating.
Unsure if this can be solved by landlord/building management, but because it’s a new build it’s impossible to get the address on a map. Always have trouble with deliveries/uber when inputting address as it takes them to a different road.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Building management are swift to resolve most queries, however there have been a few slip ups in reporting.

City living

The design of the building is truly beautiful! The rooftop areas and small breakout rooms are incredible. Really not a fan of not having an actual key or fob for the entry of the apartment/ building. The use of a card is really less than ideal as you can’t attach it to a Keyring etc so the amount of times you will leave the house without it is insane. Yes you can have it added to your phone via an app but a classic fob or key would 100% be my preference. Also, no one showed us where the bin store was so we just had to have a wonder around hoping to find it, but the neighbours are so friendly they showed me where I was going.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great night life, good transport links and in the heart of digbeth where there is great food and drink options. Only downside is there is loads of road works going on so the usual 6am wake up call takes some getting used to.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How early the road works start in the morning haha!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They tend to be very fast but again the whole set up of my key access on my phone took 3 separate visits to the reception for it to work.
