I love living here!

A design that keeps heat inside in the winter very well to a point where I don’t use the heating at all or rarely. The building does look like a reused cargo container though! Very fast Internet speeds. The neighbourhood all communicate over Facebook and problems can usually be sorted quickly.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Excellent location for ease of commuting into the city centre, either for work or play. It’s an easy walk to all the nightlife, no need for taxis. I live within half a mile of many different pubs and restaurants.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I was well aware that the buildings nearby were going to be taken up by a new restaurant/pub. I was unsurprised when this involved a certain level of noise relating to rubbish removal and cars parked erratically. Some folk do complain about these things.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Slowly. Problems are usually dealt with after they have discovered that the fault is theirs to deal with and not Citu’s.

Great location and community

We love living at Little Kelham, there have been a few bumps along the way in terms of quality of finish and a few problems we didn’t expect to have to deal with. Aside from the problems we’ve had personally, the design of the whole site together is great and we can’t wait to see it fully finished.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area is great for socialising, plenty of restaurants, bars and amazing independent businesses. There is a real sense of community and it’s a great place to live, everything you could possibly need is in walkable distance!

Parking is a major problem in the area, if you have a car I’d highly recommended buying a space. There are a lot of new developments happening in the area but no parking to accommodate them unlike Little Kelham where you have the opportunity to park a car safely.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I would recommend pushing to get any snags/ problems resolved before your completion date if you can.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

The property management company do resolve problems straight away and communication is great, sometimes there is a little confusion if it’s the builders responsibility/ property management company’s responsibility as the sites still a work in progress.

The builders themselves haven’t always been great with communication regarding snags or problems, you have to be persistent to get things resolved.

Diamond in the rough

The idea and marketing was fantastic, however there are large areas of the development which look nothing like the pictures. A prime example of this is the area outside Uber’s office (behind the wedge / next to domo). It is a gravel patch and overgrown with weeds, covered in glass shards, but the marketing showed it as a green area.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The local restaurants are absolutely fantastic, but the lack of parking and constant issues with the recycling bins being full cause issues.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The level of aftercare is poor and extremely difficult. You really have to chase to get anything, but when they do turn up they are always kind and apologetic.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have not had a shower for over 6 months now, and we have had ventilation issues since we moved in. The fans are filled with black muck which the builders told us was likely from the cement, but they were never cleared so they don’t work.

Lovely place to live, especially if you like boules…

The buildings are very nice looking and insides are nice. There are plenty of facilities one would want and expect from an apartment block. Buildings are well maintained now after an initial slow start. Generally property management is okay. Local community is lovely, very nice and helpful. Favourite party is easily the boules pitch.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Great quality and quantity of local business. Plenty of transport, quick walk to town centre.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known about Kelham Flea for furniture!!

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Poorly. They have been very apprehensive to help with any issues that have existed in the apartment since purchase.
