“I would definitely recommend living here. I like the apartment – it’s good quality and well designed. The building company (CALA) did a great job – the finish was really high quality. The area is pretty safe. Our neighbours are all really friendly.” Verified resident, Millbrook Park by CALA Homes

an excellent family home in a lovely location.

The primrose crescent development is a good size and the design of the larfield with the extra family area in the kitchen makes this property an excellent family home.
A couple of small design issues which would have enhanced the property would be to make the en-suite bathroom a little wider and the downstairs toilet a little smaller to give a bigger hallway.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

A nice typical English village with a good shop, pub and sports facilities. Although rural good transport links aren’t far away.
Parking on estate for visitors is limited.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The only real problem we have had and wish we had known was we had to order our own bins!!!

What is the best feature of your home:

The downstairs layout with the large kitchen dining family room and a perfect size lounge.

Great location and lovely development

The design is lovely and not repetitive, which has given it great character. Space has also been well considered and adequate parking given to the properties. They have landscaped the areas really well and considered the public spaces too. Roads are a mix of tarmac and block paving which adds more character.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is a really great location and walking distance of the town. It is also easy accessed to the A41 that takes you to the M1 and M25 so for commuting it is ideal. The only negative of this is sometimes the noise can carry from the A41,

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the end of the estate may become a Lidl, we had been told business related.

What is the best feature of your home:

It gave us the open plan space downstairs to make it a warm family home.

Brilliant new home in a fantastic location

This is a beautiful modern development beside a grade A listed former school in the heart of Edinburgh. The apartment is open-plan full of light, is extremely comfortable with well designed kitchen and bathrooms. The view from the apartment at the front is of the stunning former school now redeveloped as luxury accommodation. The view at the back is of woodland. There is underground garaging with electric points. It is difficult to speak authoritatively of the property management given the COVID crisis ( we moved in just as the country locked down in March), However, it has been a little patchy at times with slow responses at times but at others very quick. Snagging items in the home were relatively few and these were dealt with very satisfactorily by CALA

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It is quiet development with lots of green space and dramatic views in the very heart of Edinburgh. Within easy walking distance of all amenities

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The underfloor takes a bit of getting used to if you have not had it before, but is very effective.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

More electrical sockets. The burglar alarm system has been problematic.

The thing that drew us to this Cala development is how much more open and spacious it appears.

The thing that drew us to this Cala development is how much more open and spacious it appears. The main road through is wide and open, and the houses do not feel on top of each other in the side roads. The first lake provides a nice open space and walk which will improve as the rest of the development is completed. The landscaping is maintained on a weekly basis ensuring that the development remains well kept.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We had admired Shopwyke Lakes for a while before deciding to move here just before the pandemic hit in 2020. Whilst there are no shopping facilities or recreational facilities on the development yet, there is easy access to both the centre of Chichester and the Coop in Tangmere. The whole development has a community feel with a local Facebook group for neighbours to update each other and strengthen that community with resident led events having taken place recently.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

None at all. I’m aware that, when the Oving traffic lights close, traffic will be routed through the development however this was known before we moved here and will not have an impact on the road we live.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issues that have been raised have been dealt with swiftly and effectively.
