Clean, safe and quiet.

The hand over was swift, efficient and safely done. We have had no problems with the building and when we moved in there were ample opportunities to speak to someone if we needed. The negatives have been the streets being blocked off for long periods of time due to paving the roads which should have been considered before residents moved in or choosing a quicker design as to not inconvenience residence. We also have no green spaces such as the balance pond and park completed and have been left with overgrown weeds and fencing.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This development is safe, quiet and friendly. It’s clean and well looked after. It is not close to a lovely high street so that can be seen as a positive or a negative depending on your own requirements.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

That the park wouldn’t be done in the given timeframe.

What is the best feature of your home:

Safe and reliable to buy a new build. Good garden and layout.

Picture perfect high spec development on very edge of pretty small riverside town.

Very good quality new build, high ceilings, very high end specification as standard, far superior to most other new builds. Layout of development gives good consideration to privacy and green spaces. The kitchen/diner has plenty of space and just flows naturally from the lounge. The downstairs cloaks and utility are fairly spacious and also the two bathrooms upstairs are of very good standard, very modern and fantastic fixtures and fittings. The two bedrooms are both spacious and one offers stunning views over Bredon Hill with its magnificent sunsets. One can walk straight from the house down to the River Isbourne which flows into the Avon, for lovely walks or cycle/walk on the routes on Bredon Hill, famous for its peaceful, ancient villages and blossom in the Spring. The orientation of the house East West allows for breakfast on the patio (in Spring/Summer) or sun filled kitchen early in the day and the afternoon/evening sun flooding the larger bedroom (without the en-suite) and lounge. The smallish garden, easy to look after is a good place to relax or dry washing and houses patio table and chairs and large shed. There are cycle ways galore close by which is encouraged by the house builders Bloor Homes in their efforts to promote sustainable living, which is easy in the compact town. Overall very happy with the house and the after sales service couldn’t be better.

The quaint market town of Evesham offers everything needed for daily living with some edge of town larger shopping facilities such as The Valley, well worth a visit for its stunning garden centre and branded clothing outlets and restaurant. The river Avon meanders gently through this small, friendly town and a stroll along its riverbanks will make you feel a million miles away. Transport is good, trains to London, buses, no planes but Birmingham and Bristol not too far away. Also easy access to the A46, right next to it but open countryside in the other direction, by the town’s football club. Cheltenham would be the place to shop nearby, for a greater selection and the Cotswolds offer fantastic walking, horse riding and mountain biking amongst its honey coloured stone villages, all just minutes away. Shakespeares birthplace, Stratford Upon Avon offers a good amount of leisure facilities, parks, theatres, fine dining. The Evesham area has a choice of good schools and a college and there are further Colleges/Universities in Worcester, Cheltenham and Gloucester. If you’re looking for small town living, next to picture perfect countryside, with good facilities then Evesham would be hard to beat.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The original dishwasher and appliances were cited as Bosch but were changed to Zanussi and the oak handrail was just white painted instead.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Fast responses to fix minor issues. Very good customer service.

Unhappy buyers

The overall design for Bloor homes is well laid out with good standard fittings and fixtures, which is why we bought from them. There are no facilities on site with the exception of a post box. There are lots of dogs being walked up and down our road and no dog waste bin that I can see.
We have had a major problem with our roof to the bay window resulting in a large ingress of water ruining the ceiling, paintwork and floor. Bloor had attempted to resolve the problem, unsuccessfully, which resulted in outside contractors being called in to carry out the work necessary to resolve the issue after 4 attempts. Finally Bloor conceded that the lead flashing was at fault and hadn’t been put on properly resulting in the ingress of water. We had told them that this was the case in the very beginning as we’d had it looked at by a builder friend, but unfortunately they didn’t want to listen and just tried shoddy makeshift repairs. Bloor have responded well in all other issues that we’ve had, except this.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Shops are approx 1.5 miles away which is handy, however there’s no local shop in the vicinity. Don’t use local transport so can’t comment. Bin collection is good but there’s always one neighbour who doesn’t take their bin in after collection, sometimes leaving it there for days. Living on my road is a nightmare! Filthy from works traffic and soil movement for the 2 years since we moved in. Our house is painted white brickwork and is absolutely covered in dirt and dust all the time. I could clean my windows every day and they’d still look grubby, our patio is constantly dirty, our cars get covered in the dust every day, we’ve spent a fortune on cleaning our cars and windows since we’ve been here. The streetlight close to our drive has never worked even after many complaints and it’s pitch black at night making walking from our drive to our front door unsafe. The noise from the JCBs, road sweepers, delivery lorries, cranes, cement lorries, fork lifts, soil movement trucks etc for 6 out of 7 days a week is totally unacceptable. The entrance to the land they are accessing is right opposite our front door and the builder has had to put cones along our frontage to enable these vehicles access and turning. They start working approx 7.15am and wake us up every day. There’s supposed to be a speed limit through the estate for work vehicles, and workers vans and cars which is not adhered to with many going over 40 mph.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The disruption of the ongoing building works is a living nightmare. Everything is so dirty all the time.

What is the best feature of your home:

The en suite and bathroom are lovely. The cupboard under the stairs is very useful.

I really appreciate the opened space it has

I live in a 2 bed maisonette with my toddler, and I really appreciate the opened space it has. The design is okay, the kitchen storage is massive. The bedrooms are decent sized as well, along with two storage cupboards on the hallway. Building and property management are regularly in touch to make sure everything as it should be.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The local area is easily accessible with cars. There are local buses as well, as of the national staff shortage it is very unpredictable. The estate has a small retail park next to it, with and Aldi, Costa, Greggs, Subway, Mcdonalds, a nursery and pet shop. Alos there is a Garden Center down the road, and a new Porshe Salon just buliding now. We could do with more useful shops and a walking distanced playground which I believe it is in plans for the near future. I haven’t experienced any antisocial behaviour or any negative in that aspect.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

You probably will need a car for the most comfortable experience.

What is the best feature of your home:

The opened space kitchen and living room as I can always have my eyes on my toddler.
