We believe the best information about a residential development comes from the people living there. Owners and tenants have a lot of useful information to share with their prospective neighbours, not just on the property itself and its locality, but also on the developer and the building’s management.

Location will be much better once the infrastructure is opened linking the development back into Towcester, without this there’s only one main point of access which means the road is heavily congested. Design is nice, the presentation of the estate will look beautiful once the works have finished.

The overall design for Bloor homes is well laid out with good standard fittings and fixtures, which is why we bought from them. There are no facilities on site with the exception of a post box. There are lots of dogs being walked up and down our road and no dog waste bin that I can see. We have had a major problem with our roof to the bay window resulting in a large ingress of water ruining the ceiling, paintwork and floor. Bloor had attempted to resolve the problem, unsuccessfully, which resulted in outside contractors being called in to carry out the work necessary to resolve the issue after 4 attempts. Finally Bloor conceded that the lead flashing was at fault and hadn’t been put on properly resulting in the ingress of water. We had told them that this was the case in the very beginning as we’d had it looked at by a builder friend, but unfortunately they didn’t want to listen and just tried shoddy makeshift repairs. Bloor have responded well in all other issues that we’ve had, except this.

Great neighbourhood and community, unfortunately builders and contractors make for a noisy and dusty life. Car is always filthy from the building dust, can’t hang clothes out because of the dust, and it appears that builders now work weekends. Lorries constantly getting stuck going in and out the site and causing jams. Happy with the quality of our home however it’s clear a few corners were cut. Quality of the garden soil is terrible, it appears to have been used as a bin by the builders and is very clay-like. Communication between Sales and Site could be better.

Overall development is very nice, typical builders move people in without really giving any thought to people living there already. The road is mud bath permanently. Drain covers broken with sharpe edges.

In terms of living on the development, it is a lovely place to live however the noise and dirt from builders is really disturbing. I must add that Bloor are not responsible as they have moved logistically around the site whereas Persimmon who are also building on the development seem to be building ad hoc. They have also been working weekends which is really annoying when you get woken at 7:30am everyday to the sound of construction. The amount of dirt and dust created as well is incredibly frustrating. I’m sure that once they have left, the development will be a lovely peaceful place to live.
