Bad customer service and poor house quality for its price.

Very dissapointed with the customer service, very ignorant people. Sending multiple emails withouth answer. Everything is falling apart after 2.5 years and they just wash their hands off. The hpises are very expensive but not done properly. Very dissapointed.

Late 2020 development, the Wheatfields: Well-situated and comfortable living

The facilities and design of the property are good and were completed well, despite the setbacks of the pandemic. Staff and contacts were supportive throughout the building and moving-in period and have been willing to assist with fixing any imperfections in the property they are agreed liable for, be that in painting/decorating or built-in furnishings, although there have at times been delays in contractors completing the work. On this note, site management has generally been very good.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Rural area within a short drive of central Milton Keynes. Local pubs and services in nearby villages, although limited in size as would be expected. Plenty of open spaces around, including walking paths, agricultural fields and common areas. Countryside carriageways can be difficult to travel by depending on the circumstances, but nearby to main roads in-and-between larger urban developments. Within commuter distance of central Milton Keynes and Wolverton (including offices and train services). Main road outside the development can be noisy depending on the time of day, particularly with agricultural vehicles about. Train line on the far side of the development but not much of a disturbance. Estate could have more bins for dog walkers about.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Site management has generally been prompt, understanding and accommodating with any issues raised, although there have been some significant delays in having contractors (painter-decorators and plumbers, for instance).

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The traffic outside the estate and traffic access can be a disturbance on some occasions and particularly in mornings, as can site work (which is expected with an ongoing development). Some of this is attributable to rural activity and farm vehicles given the location of the development. Of course, properties will experience varying levels of disturbance depending on the time and their location and access will vary by vehicle, season and circumstances.

Great property in a beautiful location

We love the design of our home, and Davidsons have thought of most things would like more storage but then I think we have more storage than have seen in other developments. Great off street parking we have a single garage but can also park 4 to 5 cars on our driveway which is amazing for a new property. The insulation on the house is as you would expect and our fuel Bill's are now minimal although would have liked solar panels. Good quality build and finishes

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

A lovely place to live, very quiet, bin collections good, no traffic noise. Fantastic sense of community both on the whestfields and within Hanslope. Good local amenities include doctors, primary school 2 pubs a spa, newsagents/coffee shop various church denominational, village cricket and football clubs village hall and recreational facilities as well as play area. Loads of local walks and on a cycle route.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

As mentioned things are being put right although it has taken longer to complete the snagging than we would have hoped and we have had to chase.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

To up speck your kitchen tops if you can, we did and love ours the standard sink tap we heard from others is in practical also the stainless steel sink takes up alot of space on the peninsula where as ours is within the quartz so it gives you more work top space

Wheatfields good but could be better.

J Darby (Owner)

The development itself is good, the layout is quite well throughout and there are lots of different house types to make the development look nicer than other new build estates. Some of the houses are quite close to the road which may not be great for some people. The developer is OK, not the best not the worst out there. Do expect lots of snagging issues with your new build here. They do try to rectify them quite quickly but sometimes fall short of the mark with service. All in all not a bad place to live.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Hanslope is a nice looking village. It has some great residents who are welcoming but also those who hate the new developments and will make it known every given moment. Facilities are lacking in Hanslope, there is one small shop for groceries. There is also a newsagent and sandwich place next door to this and a Chinese takeaway, but that’s about it really. Definitely ripe for a Tesco express or similar. There are a couple of pubs also. The area is great with lots of good walks to be had straight from your doorstep and Salcey forest just down the road. Less than 20 minutes outside of Milton Keynes so good links for Railways for trains to Birmingham and London. There is a primary schools- it says outstanding on Ofsted but hasn’t been reviewed for a very long time, which if you investigate St Mary and St Giles school in Stony Stratford shows how misleading that can be. There are other schools in the area to make a choice between. Once you get past caring about the haters of Hanslope it is a lovely place.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They do try to Ed tofu issues but do fall short of the mark in quality and speed of delivery this also falls off over time.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How much of a backlash you could expect from some of the villagers of Hanslope.

Life at The Wheatfields

Gary W (Owner)

The design of the Wheatfield's estate is lovely. Quite spacious for a new build site as well. The different design of houses and different materials used gives it a fresh look as not many houses look the same. Facilities are what you would expect from village life with a couple of pubs, a shop, and a butchers that also sells some vegetables. Although our hole process of buying from Davidsons was good and we were led the whole way through the time it is taking for the snagging list to be completed is terrible with 9 months passing and still not completed.

Please tell us about the good and bad aspects of living in your local area:

Hanslope is only 10 minutes outside of Milton Keynes but the drive home makes a world of difference. Beautiful village which is not overcrowded. Davidson's have done a good job putting a development here. Parking is good on the estate and the general upkeep of the estate is very good. No issues with anything on the estate.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Since moving in 9 months ago it has been myself chasing to get the snagging list undertaken with still quite a few outstanding. It feels like as soon as you are in that's it. Shame as the actual quality that Davidson is trying to achieve I believe is very good. Just tarnished by poor after sales, lack of communication and very slow reactions to issues highlighted.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Be very firm when trying to rectify the snagging list from the start.
