Milton Keynes

Just 50 miles to north east of London, Milton Keynes was devised as a ‘new town’ in the 1960s and continues to evolve and grow today. Famed for its roundabouts and district grids, the town has benefitted from a steady flow of new residents from London. House prices have seen strong growth, with amenities and schools now plentiful and high quality. Housing is more varied than its reputation might suggest, with everything from period properties in historic villages to new build homes in chic developments.

Areas to consider

Areas in Milton Keynes with more of a village-feel include Middleton and Loughton. These offer historic homes as well as new build properties. Bradwell and the Shenley Villages are also worth considering if this is what you’re looking for.

Slightly further out, areas like Wolverton and Bletchley offer a good mix of property types, while Willen is a popular spot for property hunters wanting to live close to the lake. Central Milton Keynes is great for modern rental developments, like Grainger’s Solstice Apartments – our highest-rated development in MK so far.

“We love living in Oakgrove. We moved here to be in one of the best school catchments in MK. Our children go to Monkston primary school and now will be in catchment for Oakgrove secondary school which is a great school.” – Everett, Verified Resident, Oakgrove Village

Transport

Milton Keynes offers outstanding transport connections, both locally and nationally. Six rail stations serve the main urban area, including Milton Keynes Central, Wolverton and Bletchley – all on the West Coast Main Line. The fastest services into London take just 35 minutes.

The M1 motorway connects Milton Keynes with the Midlands and the north, as well as southwards through Luton into London. Luton Airport provides the nearest options for both domestic and international flights, while extensive bus services provide excellent local connections between the various estates and the centre of MK.

“Very close to the shopping centre and short walk to the park. Incredibly convenient to get on M1 in terms of commuting.” – Ed S. Verified Resident, Solstice Apartments MK9

Reviews

Solstice apartments is a great place to live as the apartments are very modern and well furnished with good views of the centre. The location is ideal with it being right opposite the shopping centre and close to bars, pubs and restaurants.

We moved from South Africa to the area last month and have so far been nothing but impressed with the houses, facilities, shops, schools and roads.

Housing has been planned well in that there are plenty of green areas and parks, with the sound from the motorway almost non existent. It is located in the catchment of good schools and is well located for commuting, being close to the motorway, coach station and railway. There are a good selection of shops nearby and restaurants are located slightly further away, but still within walking distance.

Walking distance to Stony Stratford which is fantastic for local amenities. Lots of choice, character and independent businesses. Lots of community events. A great place to live.

The design features of the building are amazing – really lovely modern interior. Facilities are great and the communal spaces are lovely and clean. The staff are really nice and always looking to help you out with whatever you may need. I couldn’t recommend enigma square enough

A lovely apartment

Great location with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Expensive parking outside but relatively safe albeit slightly loud at night some evenings.

Please review your development:

Lovely apartment with nice furniture and utilities. Staff are helpful and put on nice events. Bathrooms are spacious and modern- although a hand towel rail would be nice. The apartment could do with air conditioning however as the air flow is difficult with window restrictions

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Always keep the flat clean and tidy as it gets dusty easier. It also gets very hot in the summer as the windows don’t fully open

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes they are prompt. We had a few issues and most were handled quickly

The local area is fantastic! The Hub offers many nearby restaurants, and there’s a Sainsbury’s superstore across the road. Centre:MK shopping centre is just a short walk away. You’ll also find plenty of open space, including Willen Lake. For commuters, MK Central station is a brief walk away, perfect for grabbing a coffee before your journey. What more could you ask for?

Please review your development:

Wow! I absolutely love living here. The apartment is spacious and stylishly furnished. The communal areas, including the Sky Lounge and Roof Terrace with a barbecue, are fantastic! The co-working space is quiet and perfect for ‘work from home’ days. To top it all off, the in-house team, Natalie and Mustafa, are incredibly helpful! 😍

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Moving in was a breeze. We had access to the lifts from the underground parking and were provided with a trolley to assist with the move.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Any issues have been addressed promptly and efficiently.

There’s a large Sainsbury’s right opposite, which is convenient, and the grounds and gardens are kept clean all the time.

Please review your development:

Everyone is fantastic, honestly one of the best buildings I’ve lived in, and I’ve lived in quite a few. The front desk attendants, Mustafa and Natalie are super helpful, and always ready to provide you with anything you need and answer your questions. When you report a maintenance issue, even on the weekend, your issue is logged immediately and you have sosons attending to it as soon as possible. Don’t think I’ve had an unresolved maintenance issue for more than 48 hours in the Almere, it’s incredible. And they don’t do quick, cheap fixes either, they make sure it’s done properly, and the issue resolved to the best of their ability. Wana the maintenance man is fantastic. The residents app is easy to use, and there are so many community events happening, different fitness programs, wine tasting, bbqs, etc. The post collection is seamless, and secure, never had any issues with my post being lost, even when left in the general mailbox area. It’s also pet friendly, so nice to see so many people’s dogs and be able to pet them occasionally. It’s a nice mood boost. I can’t see myself leaving the Almere until I have to.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There is a free coffee machine! I would’ve invested in more coffee to go mugs.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Promptly. Never an issue unresolved for more than 48 hours.
