It’s ok

We need some better playgrounds for the children, but otherwise the houses look nice and the streets are wide enough. It still becomes a problem though when people park their cars on the pathways. The duck pond is quite a nice touch and attractive for the children.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

We are quite a way from the main road which is nice because it is very quiet but the playgrounds are not very nice for the children, I think some slides and swings would be nice.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we would have known there were plans to build a school right behind our house.

What is the best feature of your home:

The kitchen is nice and the walls are sound proof.

All in a clean village living styli.

The local shop facilities could have been centralised a little to the north towards Middleton Stoney. Everything else is very good to include the house design, adequate cosy living room area, large parking area and garden space, a sufficient shed, adequate kitchen dining area/facilities, storage space, a very good size bathroom and down stairs toilet and finally good size bedrooms.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s all good, walking distance to a magnificent gym and playing fields, Bicester village retail shopping and other shoping prescients consisting of good packing. With is a good bus service to Bicester town and Oxford City, there is a nice quiet feeling of living in a lovely modern village.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

When viewing the property (twice) I was not made aware of the heating controls which turned out to be quite technical. I also found the garden bed areas was clay based, not deep, had concrete in some areas and insufficient top soil.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

A bigger hallway would be so cool, it provides a wellcoming platform.

Happy new owner

The houses are well designed and fitted out. The lawn which was included in our purchase price however was awful. It was laid on rubbish and we are having a nightmare keeping it alive. So far the property management has been ok although I beleive that because they are still building next to our house with have not yet been transfered over to the maintenance company. Any snag issues we had have been quickly resolved by very friendly helpful people. So oversall, very happy with our new home.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Close to shops/library and station. Bin collections are good and we have a lot of open spaces. We have had only a small amount of anti social behaviour mainly loud noisy cars going around the estate late at night. The only issue we have had is the parking of the builders while they are working on the new homes is not very considerate. Having said that, the builders are really nice and helpful when help is needed.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The lawn is terrible. They have laid the new turf on rubbish so that it will not grow.

What is the best feature of your home:

Insulation. Very well insulated. Well laid out and good standard of finish.

The design of our house is fabulous

The design of our house is fabulous. We have been in just over a year and still love it! I love how the houses in our estate all look different and love the variety of brick work. We have been in just over a year and nearly all of our snags have been dealt with. Lots of changes to the site management team during that time that have slowed progress down but almost all completed now.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Calderwood is a lovely community where everyone looks out for each other. Lots of parking around our estate and a good bus service. Not a far walk from Kirknewton trainstation and a short walk to 2 local pubs The Grapes and Fork and Field with a longer walk along to Bridge Inn. There are plans for a local shop and pub to be built in Calderwood which it badly needs alongside a local childcare facility. The new primary school is state of the art and brings the community together

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish we had organised our carpets and flooring as part of the build as it slowed down our entry date

What is the best feature of your home:

The size of the bedrooms is the best feature! Most new builds we looked at had small rooms but ours has 4 double rooms which sold this type of house to us.
