Okay to live here, nothing special

The building is pretty basic. The finishes aren’t great, skirting coming away, doors don’t fit etc. It’s not too bad for the price. The facilities aren’t great. We were told there would be a gym but there had never been one. Management is okay, they respond quickly but aren’t the most helpful.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

There is a local shop beneath one of the blocks of flats which is very handy! A Lidl and a Sainsbury’s within walking distance. A large park about a 10 min walk away! Transport is great, buses going all over the city are at the top of road. There’s not much trouble around here, slight anti social behaviour but not too bad. One of the blocks is let out as a hotel which is annoying and causes lots of noise from parties and anti social behaviour

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Definitely would tell people about Dream apartments and how the noise it causes

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

They respond quickly and get issues sorted within reason

A loved flat

Me and my flat mate absolutely love this flat to pieces. We love the location and the homely feel. It’s such a fab location and very quick and easy to get to the city centre when we need. Also close to peel park for when we need a break from the city rush.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good aspects:
Location, flat layout & design

Bad aspects:
Parcel collection (a few of my parcels have been stolen because there isn’t really a ‘safe place’ if I’m not in the flat)

Garage shutter – permanently open and my flat mates car has been broken into – we assume by kids that sometimes hang out in the car park because it’s always open to the public.

Recycling – I’m unsure if recycling is actually recycled by the bin men. Residents also don’t always put recycling in the correct bins

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parcels can be stolen. Try and order when you know you’re going to be in

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Yes, the building management have always been easy to contact and have always responded promptly

There is a constant noise/ruckus coming from Dreams apartments guests

Outside the apartment is a combination of nightmares. There is a constant noise/ruckus coming from Dreams apartments guests as well as a police presence almost every weekend. There are stolen packages/parcels all the time & doesn’t seem to be any intervention from anyone responsible. Adelphi Wharf 2 & 3 are affected the worst & this has been an ongoing issue since we moved in to the property.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Local amenities close by. Transport links are further away but has lots of parking facilities. Living space is good & building design is also great, inside the apartment we can’t complain.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

We wish we had known about Dreams apartments and the nuisance it causes to residents in the area. They appear to be breaching their ‘long-term stay only’ contract and creating problems for tenants & owners in the building

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

We have had responses for a few minor issues such as the toilet flushing mechanism and under kitchen storage but were told we’d have to fix the washing machine ourselves even though it was leaking when we initially moved in.

Can’t recommend this place

The building is ugly, management is non-existing (though some flat owners fight to make it better). I’m sure it’s a life risk to stay there. Sewage, fire risk and criminals luring around.
Bin room is unsafe and disgusting, “water” from sewage system dripped down for a year, when it’s windy it’s windy inside your home as well!!

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This is the worst place I’ve ever been – badly made construction, no management, dirty, a paradise for criminals. It’s unsafe to live there. Nothing promised were actually there, such as gym and cycle storage. If you dream about a life with paranoia and a general mental health situation, this place is good, otherwise find something else.
Location is good, but there are better options close by.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

How bad the area was. One thing is the bad building, but so many criminals in that area – with access to the buildings – made it so unsafe.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

Never did. Mainly called the police and not the building management.
