The whole building is well-designed, making good use of space and not feeling too cramped. However, my flat, which is a studio flat, is a bit small for comfort. I chose to live here because it was the cheapest flat but I would recommend paying a bit extra for more space. The facilities are good with a dishwasher, good shower and washer-drier provided. If you report a minor issue, it may take a while to be fixed or may not be fixed at all; however more major issues will be fixed relatively quickly.
Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:
Great selection of bars, pubs, restaurants and retail shops on Ecclesall Road. Good transport links with many popular routes running nearby and the bus station within a 25 minutes walk. Plenty of on-site parking available at a cost and some on-street parking available – mostly pay and display but a few free spots. Can be noisy on weekends as a lot of people walk past the building, especially on match days.
Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:
Porterbrook North gets a lot of foot and motor traffic. I would recommend Porterbrook Central or South instead.
How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:
Major issues like a broken toilet system are fixed quickly. Minor issues like a loose panel in my kitchen don’t get fixed quickly / at all.
