NICE HOUSE BUT POOR TO NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE

HOUSES NICELY DESIGNED , RANGING FROM SOCIAL HOUSING TO 5 BEDROOM DETACHED. IN MY VIEW AS A DRIVER POOR DESIGN IN THAT THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY IN AND OUT OF THE DEVELOPMENT AND IT IS NOT A PARTICULARLY WIDE ROAD (TWO CARS WIDTH)
STILL A DEVELOPMENT WITH MORE HOUSES BEING BUILT , BUT MAINTENANCE OF COMMUNAL AREAS OK , ALTHOUGH QUALITY OF GRASS VERGES / GARDENS LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED DUE TO TURF LAID ON CONCRETE AT THE BOUNDARIES WHICH DIES OFF DUE TO LACK OF SPACE TO GROW.
PERSONAL EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN DISAPPOINTING IN TERMS OF DELAYS IN COMPLETING THE PROPERTY RESULTING IN HAVING TO LIVE IN A HOTEL FOR 2/3 WEEKS TO ENABLE DAUGHTERS TO ATTEND NEW YEAR AT NEW SCHOOL , FAILURE TO CORRECT SNAGGING ISSUES AND DENIAL OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR WATER LEAKS – BOILER OUTLET ALLOWS RAIN WATER TO ENTER AND LEAK DOWN WALL BUT ACCORDING TO BOVIS THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AS IN THEIR OPINION THE BOILER HAS BEEN CORRECTLY INSTALLED – CUSTOMER CARE / TAKING RESPONSIBILITY IS NON EXISTENT AND THIS FOLLOWS ON FROM THE DISCOVERY OF A GAS LEAK UNDER THE PAVEMENT OUTSIDE OUR PROPERTY WHICH WAS ATTENDED BY EMERGENCY SERVICES WHO ADVISED THAT THE PIPE WHEN INSTALLED WAS LEAKING AND HAD BEEN WRAPPED IN CLOTH AND BURIED IN THE HOPE THAT THE LEAK WOULD STOP – THE EVENTUAL ESCAPE OF GAS WAS QUITE CONSIDERABLE AND COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS LEADING TO A POTENTIAL EXPLOSION – UNFORTUNATELY SIMPLY IGNORED BY BOVIS JUST AS MANY OTHER ISSUES RAISED!
IT TOOK US 3 YEARS TO GET BOVIS TO SECURE FENCING POSTS IN REAR GARDEN WHICH HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY PUT IN DEEP ENOUGH IN THE FIRST PLACE AND THE REMEDIAL WORK WAS UNDERTAKEN WITHOUT REPLACING ANY DAMAGED FENCING OR THE BROKEN POST WHICH AROSE DUE TO BOVIS TAKING AN INTOLERABLE PERIOD TO UNDERTAKE THE REPAIRS LEADING TO MORE DAMAGE AND THE CONTRACTORS WERE INSTRUCTED NOT TO REPLACE ANY FENCING BY THE AREA MANAGER – THE SAME PERSON WHO ADVISED THAT WATER ENTERING VIA THE BOILER OUTLET WAS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY !
WE DID NOT EXPECT PERFECTION BUT DID EXPECT TO HAVE ANY DEFECTS IDENTIFIED PUT RIGHT FIRST TIME WITHOUT QUESTIONS OF COST TO BOVIS WHICH UNFORTUNATELY HAS NOT BEEN THE CASE AND MORE OFTEN THAN NOT THEY HAVE TRIED TO DENY RESPONSIBILITY OR BLAME OTHERS TO AVOID THEIR LIABILITY.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF HAILSHAM TOWN CENTRE INCLUDING TESCOS, WAITROSE , ASDA AND MANY MORE AND A BUS RIDE OF EASTBOURNE / BRIGHTON.
DEVELOPMENT IS QUIET , BUT WITHOUT STREET LIGHTING AND BINS ARE COLLECTED FORTNIGHTLY. TRAFFIC BUSIER MORNINGS AND AFTERNOONS , SHORT WALK TO BUS STOPS WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE AS ARE DOCTORS SURGERIES AND LOCAL C0-0P.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

LACK OF CUSTOMER CARE / SERVICE

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

DENIED RESPONSIBILITY / BLAMED CIRCUMSTANCES SUCH AS PROBLEMS WITH FENCING BLAMED ON WEATHER RATHER THAN ENSURE PRODUCT WAS FIT FOR PURPOSE / CONTRACTORS RESTRICTED BY BOVIS NOT WISHING TO INCUR COSTS OF PUTTING THINGS RIGHT! / BOILER LEAK – NOBODY ELSE HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM !

Buying a new home – The Building Industry is only interested in profits not customers.

Missold on the Management Company TP1. Big fees for a little grass cutting – mainly down to admin miles away. We pay for communal areas which are not exclisively ours.
Parking is difficult – I can hardly access my drive because of cars parked opposite. Roads and junctions are narrow and congested. Fast speed of vehicles inappropriate. Rented house next door is a communal situation, lots of noise – it’s like a zoo. Often 6+ cars there at the weekend. People move into their rented houses with 3 cars and one parking space. The ‘anti’ social housing nearby has brought drug running to the estate. The Police presence to combat anything is next to useless. Bovis build quality is barely average, beacuase there seems to be no quality inspection of inept contractors. The customer ‘don’t’ care department exarcerbates the situation, most new owners have unsolved gripes.

Location OK for facilities. Rail and bus links good.Road system completely out of date. Axminster needed a north – south bypass 60 years ago. Missold on the Management Company TP1. Many residents have 2,3, or 4 dogs. I have problems with dogs peeing against my hedge, and I’ve also had their faeces on the gravel.

I wish I knew how the area would quickly become an area of unsocialbility. I’m obviously out of step with the modern world, and I know this review will quicly find it’s way to the delete button.

What is the best feature of your home:

I keep my frontage and rear driveways neat and tidy. I sweep outside my house. My house is a credit to the estate, but not because of any input from the developer or indeed the management company – which was enforced upon us.

The houses are attractive and although modern are not without character.

Although situated off the busy Lansdown road, there is no traffic noise due to the design of the development and numerous trees. In the middle of the development is a park with facilities for small children to play and plenty of benches for the adults to enjoy the local landscape.

Ensleigh is a well designed and very pleasant development to live in. The houses are attractive and although modern are not without character. Contrary to new housing estates which usually suffer from all the houses looking the same.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Ensleigh Development is a great location. On site is a small supermarket, Primary school, a park and plenty of open countryside for dog walkers. It is within easy walking distance of one of the best pubs in Bath: the Hare and Hounds with its stunning views and great food. There is plenty of parking spaces on the development and local bus routes into the centre of Bath are on site.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The weather on Lansdown Hill is quite extreme as it is one of the highest point for miles around

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Would prefer the balcony for our main bedroom to be glass rather than stone but we have another glass balcony and roof terrace so we can’t grumble really

Would recommend finches park

The development itself is still in process as we only purchased during phase 1 so it’s going to be interesting to see how it ends up. Though we have seen the plans and it does look really good. The property we purchased is really nice with a big garden which is ideal for our dog. The construction team have been forever helpful even after buying they have touched anything up we asked about and have even helped with electronics for us.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The area as a whole is a really nice place to live. There is a one stop about 5 minutes down the the road which is really handy. As for restaurants there are two pubs about a 10 minute walk away which serve food and The Red Lion in particular is really nice with an outdoor seating area. There is also a train station 10 minute walk in the other direction which can take you to London. At the beginning of the estate there is a bus stop also. We have lived on our street since January and everyone has been really nice so far and have had no issues what so ever.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I honestly haven’t got a bad thing to say about the experience of buying and moving in. The finches park team have been really helpful throughout the whole process and still check in to make sure everything’s going alright and we are doing well which is really nice of them.

What is the best feature of your home:

I think mine and my partners best feature of the home is the garden because it is really big and when the sun has been shining we get it all day which is really nice.
