Great location and nice building

The design of the building is modern and is built to a high standard.

There aren’t many facilities within the complex I.e. no residential lounges or communal areas which most new builds in Manchester now have.

There is a residential Facebook group for dealing with property management and issues but I’ve not had much interaction with then so far

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Middlewood locks is in the perfect location, a short walk from the city centre with bars and shops close by. The transport links are excellent with buses, trains and tram access.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

There’s a really nice community spirit living here and most people tend to be young professionals

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I haven’t had any issues so far so can’t comment on this

Fantastic place to live

Fantastic community atmosphere. A young, vibrant area with plenty of close by must haves such as supermarkets, gyms shops and a restaurant / bar on site. Would highly recommend buying here and also a coffee shop is being built on site to add yet more to the community. Everyone enjoys themselves whilst respecting other residents ensuring a great vibe to the development.

I have a very expensive downhill mountain bike that I have to keep in my flat because there isn’t a bike shed. A fob locked bike shed is being added soon I am told

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

No yet had any issues to raise! I have seen that they tend to act quite slowly in some occasions but mostly good

The design of the apartments is great

The design of the apartments is great, there is definitely more storage on offer than most other developments in and around the city centre, which was a big selling point for me.

The area around Middlewood Locks is also quite unique for the city centre location, with plenty of grass and benches around.

Security are helpful and responsive, but I have heard people say property management can be quite delayed and not as proactive as people would like.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Middlewood Locks is a great place for socialising, with a local bar where there are often events held, a coffee shop and a rotating ‘restaurant’ each week.

The location is great, however there is a real lack of parking availability in Salford, so unless you’re prepared to pay a chunk out of your salary for parking, it’s probably best to not move here if you’re commuting.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Parking availability – worth looking at available spaces before moving.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

An issue I raised with my landlord (cracked balcony glass) when I moved in was addressed some time later my building management, even though I wasn’t expecting it to.

Good Apartment Building – Improvements can be made

The building is well designed and mostly quiet which I really appreciate. There are no facilities in my building but love that there’s open space which gives hope for the potential development of facilities.

My biggest problem with this place would be parking and the cost of parking, especially because if you’re moving in for the first time, and you have not paid for parking, you will not be allowed access to the parking space which is close to the entrance to offload your items. You have to unload your stuff outside by the road and then lug it all the way to the door. I think this rule is just plain ridiculous and it makes no sense to me.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

I like it here as we are close to shops and other amenities. I like the fact that we have a canal just by the gate as it is a lovely spot to relax during the summer.

Not sure how I feel about the closest bus stop being 8 minutes away though, but that’s the only issue I have with this area.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

I wish I had known that I would not be permitted access to the parking space to unload my stuff during move-in.

How has the building management responded to any problems or issues you have raised:

I needed the mirror in my room to be hung and it was done promptly.
