A modern development with modern technology

The Aaben is a modern development and as such, facilities like water do not have the problems present in older homes and flats. Both interior and exterior design is great – the red brick exterior makes it stand out without being an eye-sore. Interior design clearly has had a lot of thought, with a good colour-scheme and floorboard texture. The building and property is managed well, with an efficient means of communication with the managers.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The location is fantastic – as a PhD student who works at the University of Manchester, the university is only 10 minutes walk. ASDA Hulme is also only 5 minutes walk, with a coop across the road. The area has seen a lot of development and is aesthetically pleasing in general. There are many bus stops nearby, although the nearest tram station is a 10 minute walk (Deansgate Castlefield) which makes journeys further out a lot longer without car.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Don’t underestimate the location – it’s near everything important without actually being in the city centre. A good location for anyone working or studying at either university.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Due to the way the windows were installed, they cannot be opened far without hitting the blind rails. Giving the windows more freedom to pivot would make hot summer days less stuffy.

Home in Hulme!

The design is fantastic. Alot of open space and fresh air with lots of light coming in. Very quiet development, which gives you space to work/study. A beautiful garden in the center. Communal areas are cleaned regularly. The community is friendly and safe

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

It’s a very student friendly area with University nearby and many local shops with a massive ASDA at just 10 minutes walking distance. There’s also a Co-op and Morrisons nearby. Apart from student accommodations many families live in the community

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The neighbourhood is very friendly

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

I would perhaps have a parking space for residents and a community area with a gym and other facilities

It’s okay, but should be better

Different issues that agency can’t or doesn’t want to solve. Different problems with the doors and stolen parcels. Management doesn’t care about it and claims it is not their issue. CCTV cameras that don’t work. Lots of noise from construction work outside.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

Good commute, close to town centre

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Told us it was induction cook but it wasn’t

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

Fixing issues. More contact with management as they sometimes ignore emails

Homely place to live

The building itself is very modern. The hallways and facilities are easy to navigate and is kept clean. The bins are easy to managed and kept tidy which is a plus. The layout of the apartment is lovely and feels homely yet modern. It’s a really good amount of space and the furniture provided is practically new. It feels like they have really considered how their tenants would feel in the space.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

This location is perfect for me as it’s over the road from where I will be studying. It’s so close to the centre however, it’s not too loud.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Where the water metre is. Not so straight forward as I thought.

If there is one thing you would change about your flat or property what would it be:

The colour of the hallway is a very unusual shade of green. But too bright for my liking but easy to get over.
