The house is spacious and well insulated and has a good appearance

The house is spacious and well insulated and has a good appearance. The quality of the kitchen is only average The bathrooms/ensuites could be larger, especially the master ensuite.
The sales manager onsite was terrific and provided a great service. After-sales is patchy with one major issue still outstanding after almost 9 months with very poor communication on the subject. This appears to be a head-office issue in the main.
In common with many other builders, the topsoil in the garden is of poor quality with a lot of work required to make it right. The garden itself is spacious and other is better space between houses than most.

The development is well sited with views of the river. There is a post box but no other public services. It is only 5/10 minutes by car from supermarkets and other services however

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

The quality of the kitchen is relatively poor which until it is lived with is not apparent. There were no mirrors in any of the bathrooms which compared to other builders is unusual. Getting those fitted and wired in for power was something that would have been better done during the build.
On the plus side the insulation levels are excellent and it is very economical to run. It si a comfortable family home.

What is the best feature of your home:

The large kitchen/dining/family room at the rear is the feature that sold the house. There is also a great amount of storage

Home Sweet Home!

We are very glad that we bought a house in 2019 at Riverside of Blairs. After comparing it with other developers we decided to go ahead with this one. A good floor plan and the high end fittings were very convincing. We had overall a good experience with Muir. Louise made all the arrangements in a short period possible. We love living close to the city centre but still countryside feeling. The only downside is that we don’t have a bus and still waiting for the pedestrian bridge which could connect the South Deeside Road with the North Deeside Road, so we wouldn’t be so dependent on going everywhere by car.

That no public transport is available and the pedestrian bridge will be very late.

Floorplan and fittings, Garden and surrounding. Love living in the middle of nature. Wonderful welcoming neighbours.

Do not recommend buying from muir

To be honest I don’t really have a good thing to say about muir in general they are great until they have your money and then couldn’t care less , we have lived here for nearly 6 years and we are still waiting for things to be fixed from our snagging list that muir like to just ignore . You can tell things were rushed to be finished in the house in the end too and some cheaper quality things used . I could go on all day regarding the issues we have had and are still having . As for the design of the house I would say room sizes are all good apart from the living room it’s tiny and it would of been nice to have a door in to the garage from the inside or a side door

It’s a good area to live nice and quiete and close to train station only down side is no fuel station . Streets are also a bit narrow .

I would personally just avoid buying one from new anyway

We have a decent sized garden and like the grey blocks used on the outside .

Good, shame about the service.

Design looks nice, the roads are not finished yet as is the kids playpark, when this is done it will make a big difference. On entering the development it looks quite disappointing due to being a building site and having a huge overgrown area right when you drive in. If this could be made into a small garden area, or even just a tidy up it would improve it from people driving by.

Please tell us what you like and dislike about this area:

The local area is quite quiet but there are good resources like the local community centre and a few small shops and takeaways. The schools are good and newly built and there are some good playparks for kids.

Please share one thing (or more) which you wish you had known before you moved in:

Timelines before we moved in. We had to live with family for 4 months with a young child, this was almost impossible to manage.

What is the best feature of your home:

Well laid out, good sized rooms, good features. Not many “extras” needed vs other builders.
